A classed growth, it's richly fruity yet structured and firm, with dense tannins and layers of delicious black fruit. With its tannins still well at the fore, it will need to age further, so drink from 2022."

- 91 Punkte DECANTER, Jane Anson: "A clear distinction from the second wine in this vintage - not surprising perhaps as this is the first vintage under Sylvie Cazes, and it was only with this vintage that a second wine was introduced, following stricter selection for the main wine. There is perhaps less of a recognisable Chauvin style that you find today, but this is an excellent wine, enjoyable and already significantly richer and more textured than the previous few years. Silky raspberry and bilberry fruits, still a violet rim even at six years old. 40% new oak. Harvest September 24 to October 9. Drinking Window 2022 – 2035"

Viel reife, schwarze Kirschen, dahinter eine würzige Earl-Greynote aufzeigend, lädt schön aus und weiss - vom ersten Moment an - positiv aufzufallen. Im Gaumen elegant, zeigt dabei aber doch eine spannende Konzentration, langer Nachhall mit mittlerem Druck. Die Anlagen sind hier sehr gut und man darf auf die weiteren Editionen der neuen Besitzerin (Silvie Cazes) gespannt sein."
