Chateau Haut Boutisse 2020 St. Emilion

40 Jahre alte Reben; 70% Merlot, 25% Cabernet Sauvignon und 5% Cabernet Franc; eine Sonderabfüllung einer Parzelle von nur einem Hektar, die zu Chateau Palais Cardinal gehört, Lehm und Kalkboden, mit etwas Kies, selektive Lese, Gärung in Beton, Ausbau in Eichenfässern verschiedener Größen um die Komplexität zu erhöhen und eine perfekte Balance von Frucht und Holzeinsatz zu erreichen, 30 % der Fässer sind neu.
Die Rebfläche befindet sich in Nachbarschaft von Gerard Perse‘s (u. a. Chateau Pavie) Weingut Chateau Monbousquet, zu dem es bis 1947 auch gehörte. Die Parzelle ist nur 500 Meter entfernt von Pavie, Tertre Roteboeuf oder Clos la Madeleine.

- Notizen des Weinguts: “Château Haut-Boutisse is one of the wines of Château Palais Cardinal, a family property that has existed since the middle of the 19th century. Four families have succeeded each other over time, the most recent being the Ballande family who took over the vineyard in 2018. The property is now managed by Nicolas Ballande, accompanied by his team of 6 people. Between 2008 and 2020 a lot of work was done to improve the quality of the wines: all renovated buildings, new temperature-controlled vat, purchase of new equipment at the cutting edge of technology. The cultivated area has also undergone a big change, going from 4ha in 2008 to 30ha today, including 26ha of Saint-Emilion Grand Cru and 4ha of Bordeaux. Supported by Oenoteam team and its oenologist Thomas Duclos, their wines have been HVE 3 and Terra Vitis certified since 2019.”
