Ripe fruit and tangy acidity provide energy and balance. Love the finish. Precise and fine-grained texture. Cabernet sauvignon with a touch of petit verdot. Try after 2023. 800 cases made.“

Parkers Wine Advocate: “2017 was a very low-yielding and warm year, and the Cabernet Sauvignon grapes for the 2017 Viñedo Chadwick were harvested earlier than ever, in early March, to avoid excessive ripeness and keep good freshness. This has the classical minty Maipo profile, with more grip, concentration and tannin—polished, fine-grained tannin—than the 2016. It has good weight and combines power with elegance, in a clean and classical style. The oak is nicely integrated, and in 2014 they started using larger 2,500-liter foudres even for the Cabernet Sauvignon; the profile of the wine has changed toward more integration and less presence of the oak aromas and flavors. This is textbook Maipo Cabernet Sauvignon with a small touch of Petit Verdot in an elegant way. Even if I like the style of the 2016 very much, I'll give the edge to this 2017. 7,126 bottles were filled in February 2019. 2021-2032.
Like Seña, Viñedo Chadwick is also a separate project from the owner of Errázuriz. The reason why is mainly because this comes from a vineyard in Alto Maipo, the classical zone for Cabernet Sauvignon in Chile, not in the Aconcagua Valley.“

-97 R. Parkers Wine Advocate/Luis Gutierrez: “The 2016 Adrianna Vineyard Mundus Bacillus Terrae is from a cold and rainy El Niño vintage that broke the mold of typical Mendoza weather. The grapes were picked a bit later and achieved a slow, perfect ripening while retaining very good freshness. They used 50% full clusters in this cooler year. The wine was pressed before it finished fermenting (in concrete), and the juice—without skins, pips or stems—finished fermenting like a white in the foudre. When I tasted the wines after bottling, this felt a bit dizzy, with the aromatics coming and going, sometimes showing a little open. But the wine settled in bottle, and the palate shows the core of acidity that lifts the wine and provides incredible freshness; the tannins are ultra refined, and there is great overall balance. Yields were lower, so they only filled some 3,360 bottles. 2019-2030.“

-98 James Suckling: “Phenomenal aromas of crushed berries, forest fruit, mushrooms and iron. Medium to full body, with layers of soft and refined tannins that follow through to a beautiful finish. Extremely long and refined. This shows depth and structure with balance and harmony. Hard not to open the bottle now and drink it, but it appears to be closing down now. Needs four to five years to show it all.”

Parkers Wine Advocate, Lisa Perrotti-Brown: "Very deep purple-black in color, it comes bounding out of the glass like a pedigree pup with exuberant notions of crème de cassis, warm blueberries and black cherries with hints of redcurrants, kirsch, candied violets, crushed rocks, cigar box and fallen leaves plus a waft of truffles. Full, rich and beautifully laced with layers of floral notes and fragrant earth, the profound black and blue fruits build slowly in the mouth, achieving great energy and depth with a beautiful velvety frame, finishing long and perfumed."

-94 Decanter, Jane Anson: “The second year where the Lurtons were able to make a fully estate wine with no bought in grapes, and in their own winery building. This is rich and smooth, with elongated tannins and a clear precision in the playing off of different elements – the blueberry and bilberry flavours are vibrant and generous, set in relief against eucalyptus, charred oak and a fresh current of acidity. Organically farmed, hugely promising of what can be achieved on this site. 74% Cabernet Sauvignon, 20% Merlot, 6% Cabernet Franc.“

Dieses kalifornische Weingut gehört Claire & Gonzague Lurton, ebenfalls von Chateau Durfort Vivens und Haut-Bages Libéral. Als Produtkions-Manager fungiert Nicolas Vonderheyden, ein Sohn der Besitzer von Chateau Monbrison. Er füllt auch kleine Mengen spannender Weine unter seinem eigenen Label MAISON AREION ab. Trinite Estate liegt in Nachbarschaft des berühmten Weingutes VERITE. Unser spannendes Eigenimport-Weingut SUTRO liegt ebenfalls direkt daneben.

-99 Jeb Dunnuck: “Just about as close to perfection as a wine can get, the 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon from winemaker Chris Carpenter comes mostly from mountain vineyards and is 89% Cabernet Sauvignon and 11% Merlot. This full-bodied, rounded, thrillingly textured beauty boasts a saturated purple color as well as a huge nose of crème de cassis, new saddle leather, barbecue smoke, and scorched earth. It has perfect integration of its fruit, tannins, acidity, and oak, carries remarkable power and intensity, yet still glides over the palate with no heaviness or sensation of weight. It’s going to be a legendary Napa Valley Cabernet and will have 3 decades or more of longevity. 2019-2049.“

-97 J. Suckling: “Very complex aromas of crushed berries, yet the fresh herbs, dried berries, sandalwood and Spanish cedar add complexity and brightness. Full-bodied with tannins that melt into the wine. Savory. Cabernet franc, merlot, syrah, cabernet sauvignon and petit verdot with a touch of alicante and sangiovese. Better after 2021.“
-97 Falstaff: “Leuchtendes, intensives Rubinrot. Ansprechende und vielschichtige Nase, satt nach dunklen Johannisbeeren, Holunderbeeren, dazu etwas Sandelholz und Gewürznelken. Straffes und dichtes Tannin, zeigt sich gut eingebunden, kraftvoll und fleischig, im Finale fester Druck, sehr lange.”

-96 R. Parkers Wine Advocate: “The 2016 Caiarossa will be released in September. This wine is a blend of seven grapes-42% Cabernet Franc, 25% Merlot, 15.5% Syrah, 6% Cabernet Sauvignon, 6% Petit Verdot, 4.5% Sangiovese and 1% Alicante. This vintage sees a slightly higher percentage of Cabernet Franc than usual, but I am told that the 2018 edition will see more Syrah instead. The bouquet presents a beautiful first wave of dark fruit that pushes the limits of ripeness but remains safely within the realm of elegance. The aromas are balanced and focused with blackberry, cassis, and light touches of salty or rusty mineral. The wine is not too constructed or big in the mouth, rather is shows a delicate level of elegances that absolutely seals the deal. Some 57,000 bottles were made. 2020-2040.“
