- 89-91 Punkte Robert Parkers WINE ADVOCATE, Lisa Perrotti-Brown: "The 2018 Cap de Faugères is composed of 85% Merlot, 10% Cabernet Franc and 5% Cabernet Sauvignon; harvest began on September 22. Deep garnet-purple colored, it opens with intense scents of preserved plums, kirsch, chocolate box and menthol with hints of woodsmoke and Indian spices. Full-bodied, rich and voluptuously fruited in the mouth, the palate has a velvety texture and plenty of red fruit sparks of freshness, finishing spicy."
- 92 Punkte DECANTER, Jane Anson: "This has a gorgeous violet edging to the colour with clear oak influence, veering to smoky and working well. There is a clear tightening through the mid palate, as you would expect from the limestone soils, but it will soften over ageing and they have captured plenty of juice running through the blueberry and blackberry fruits. The Denz estates in general have been successful in 2018. Drinking Window 2023 – 2032"
- 17 Punkte Rene Gabriels BORDEAUX TOTAL, Andre Kunz: "Kunz Fassprobe 19: (85% Merlot, 10% Cabernet Franc, 5% Cabernet Sauvignon, 37 hl/ha, Produktion 120'000 Flaschen) Florales, süsses, kräftiges Bouquet, Brombeergelee, Graphit, Korinthen, fein Lakritze. Samtener, kräftiger, fruchtbetonter Gaumen mit dichter Frucht, viel feinem Tannin, cremiger Struktur, üppiger Aromatik, langer, kräftiger, herber Abgang. Kann noch zulegen."
- 90-92 Punkte JEB DUNNUCK: "The 2018 Château Cap de Faugères will be another great value from this estate. Based on 85% Merlot with the balance Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon brought up in used barrels, this medium to full-bodied effort offers a layered, seamless texture as well as outstanding notes of blue fruits, tobacco, and leafy herbs. It’s ripe, nicely balanced, and already hard to resist."
- 91-92 Punkte JAMES SUCKLING: "Attractive blackberry and blueberry character with hints of spice and white pepper. Medium-to full-bodied. Quite tannic. One of best Cap de Faugères I have had."
