- 92 Punkte Robert Parkers WINE ADVOCATE, Stephan Reinhardt: "Based on vintage 2010, the NV Brut Grand Cru Cuvée de la Table Ronde ? disgorged in 10/2014 with three grams of dosage ? is the only style made this year, whereas the forerunner (based on 2009) also offered a Brut Nature version. However, this Brut might be a good and very dry compromise between the two styles whose Chardonnay grapes were sourced in Clamant, Avize and Chouilly. It is a very pure, balanced and delicate, but also expressively mineral, intense and elegant Champagne with ripe yellow apple and some nutty flavors. Really excellent.
Based in Cramant, Gilles Lancelot produces bright, fresh, subtle, lovely, pure and delicate Champagnes from 8.5 hectares of vines, of which three hectares are located in the Côte des Blancs with the rest in the southern part of the Marne valley. The parcels are "too small to go organic" (40 in total), but Gilles is as organic as possible, while also protecting his grapes in case their ripening process is threatened by diseases.
"The most important thing is to have good grapes and to control the whole process of grape growing, winemaking and business," Gilles Lancelot stresses. As an enologist, he wants "to control everything." He is the fourth generation of Lancelot-Pienne and has been running the domaine since 2005, after he worked ten years together with his father before.
The Champagnes of Lancelot-Pienne are completely fermented in stainless steel since Gilles Lancelot wants "to keep and to present the personality of our terroirs and of the Chardonnay grape." He also prefers to blend vineyards and vintages with 80% coming from the most recent vintage and 20% of his Réserve perpetuelle (or Solera), which includes 17 vintages.
The style of Champagne Lancelot-Pienne is perfectly dry, pure, very refined, straight and mineral. These are elegant, and rather lean and filigreed than big, mouth-filling Champagnes. But if you prefer light and stimulating Champagnes for the first half of the day (or as aperitif), Lancelot-Pienne offers a lot of bubbling satin to indulge your delights. The vintage Champagnes, if produced, are remarkably fine and complex, and combine their complex mineral nature with deep fruit aromas. The can also age very well."
- Champagner-Spezialist PETER LIEM: "Lancelot also makes an upper-tier, non-vintage blanc de blancs called Table Ronde, a nod to the noble connotations of his surname. This is blended exclusively from grand cru grapes: ?Cramant for minerality, Avize for acidity, and Chouilly for roundness and fruitiness,? says Lancelot. It contains 20 percent of reserve wine, also stored in a perpetual cuvée, and it?s released in two versions, a brut and a brut nature. (...)

- 90 Punkte VINOUS, Josh Raynolds: "Pale yellow. Ripe citrus fruits, jasmine and white pepper on the mineral-accented nose and in the mouth. Becomes fleshier with air, picking up notes of white peach and sweet butter that cling through a long, expansive finish. This rich yet lively Champagne has the heft to handle rich foods."
- Jancis Robinson: "80% from 2010 and 20% from reserve winesQuite heady and solid. No oak but quite solid and bone dry on the end. Lots of character."

- 90 Punkte VINOUS Antonio Galloni: "(made with fruit grown in Cramant; 8 g/l dosage): Pale yellow. Ripe citrus fruits, jasmine and white pepper on the mineral-accented nose and in the mouth. Becomes fleshier with air, picking up notes of white peach and sweet butter that cling through a long, expansive finish. This rich yet lively Champagne has the heft to handle rich foods."
