80% Syrah, 20% Grenache aus der Parzelle Pech Sezarine, eine der besten Parzellen des Weinguts; Appellation St. Chinian, kalkhaltiger Lehm/Ton, geringe Erträge; bei der Vinifikation wird darauf geachtet, die aromatische Intensität und Vielschichtigkeit zu bewahren, daher erfolgt der Ausbau zuum Großteil in Edelstahl und zu 22 % in neuen und einjährigen Barriques; 14,0 % vol;
- Notizen des Weinguts: “Over the years our vineyards have extended and fragmented. Time has proven that some small islets systematically produce juices of higher quality than the others. We decided to isolate them and vinify them separately. We have chosen to present them under a combination of the name “Côte” and the number, which is the average altitude of the blocks (Côte 128, Côte 136, Côte 238). This wine is made from old vines from a single parcel on the estate named Bardou. Stony soils ensure very low yields of concentrated fruit, while the cool microclimate brings freshness, finesse and balance.”

You can smell the Grenache and you can smell the Syrah. You can taste the Grenache and you can taste the Syrah. But, like the best kind of Black Forest gâteau or layered trifle, the clear layers of individual flavours come together in a triumphant symphony. It's so red-berry succulent that it's like being showered in smoochy, cranberry juicy kisses (I'm sure my chin is dripping). It's chamois leather and dark mushroom jus and roasted thyme and beef-stock cube and fresh oregano. It's horseradish cream and white pepper. The tannins growl, then purr, then wrap a velvet tail around your ankles. And then the fruit comes back. More kisses. It's a beautiful story of St-Chinian. Bravo, Laurent! (TC) 2024-2031.“
