14,5 vol.-%. 2024-2042.“

- 18 Punkte Jancis Robinson, Walter Speller: “Everything about this wine is seamless. It cannot shake off its French mould, but this goes further than just imitation. Gorgeous nose of oak, black fruit and cassis building a real unity. Velvet-like, cool and supple on the palate and effortlessly elegant while generous too. Stony, mineral fruit on the finish. This vintage comes close to the most prestigious of Bolgheri at a far more advantageous price tag. Caiarossa shines a light on the unjustly unknown terroir of Riparbella. Keep this at least for another year for it to show its potential 2023-2033.“

- 96 Punkte JAMES SUCKLING: „This is an intense, full-bodied yet very well-balanced and polished red with velvety, firm and caressing tannins. Ripe black plums, blueberries, chocolate, mocha, sweet spice and dried lavender. Some oyster shells, too. Layered and full of character. Creamy at the end from the polished tannins. 26% syrah, 24% cabernet franc, 23% merlot, 14% cabernet sauvignon, 7% petit verdot, 4% sangiovese and 2% grenache. From biodynamically grown grapes. Drink from 2026.“

- 95 Punkte Robert Parkers WINE ADVOCATE, Monica Larner: „The Caiarossa 2019 Caiarossa is a complex blend featuring Cabernet Franc, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Petit Verdot, Sangiovese, Syrah and Alicante from vineyard sites across this beautiful property in the high hills off the Tuscan coast. This organic and biodynamic wine is full and generous to the palate, yet it never feels heavy or too extracted. The wine is balanced and fresh with thick layers of dark fruit, crushed stone, tobacco and exotic spice.“

- 93 Punkte DECANTER Georgina Hindle (05/2025): „Richly scented plums and black cherries on the nose. Weighty and full in the mouth but smooth and soft, the fine tannins well integrated and supporting the bright strawberry, creamy red cherry and plum fruit flavours. Tannins give a chalky texture to the palate, gently supporting the fruit which has a subtle toasted spice to the finish. I love the acidity, the intensity of the sweet yet full fruit at the beginning, a smoky spiced element to the mid palate and a mineral tinged - wet stone, saline finish. Still feels very youthful. Under the same ownership as Château Giscours in Bordeaux. Blend completed after malolactic fermentation and aged for 14 months in barriques (30% new), then rests for six months in concrete tanks before being bottled. A blend of Syrah (26%), Cabernet Franc (24%), Merlot (23%) Cabernet Sauvignon (14%), Petit Verdot (7%), Sangiovese (4%) and Grenache (2%). Axel Marchal consultant. 2024-2039.“

Im Weinberg: 2019, a vintage of perfect harmony The 2019 vintage is likely to be remembered as one of the most homogeneous and high-quality vintages in recent years. During the summer months, we recorded average temperatures with fresher nights. We had 6 significant rainfalls that helped avoid hydric stress and created the perfect conditions to start the ripening season. We started the harvest slightly later than usual. We picked the first Merlot on 6th September, then in order: Syrah, Sangiovese, Grenache, Cabernet franc and Cabernet Sauvignon, ending with the Petit Verdot. The weather conditions were excellent. We took our time to select and harvest each grape from each parcel in its most harmonious balance of freshness and ripeness.
Im Weinkeller: HARVEST By hand for about 4 weeks. We started on September the 6th for the first Merlot and ended with the Petit Verdot on September the 30th. AGEING Once the malolactic fermentation is completed, the wine selected for Caiarossa is blended. Then it ages approximately 14 months in french oak barriques. WINEMAKING All the different plots and varieties are vinified separately in concrete tanks and wooden tanks, with slow fermentations and soft extractions.

Notizen des Weinguts: Caiarossa was created in 1998 on the rolling hillsides of Riparbella at Podere Serra All’Olio, a 100 hectare estate, part of an area owned for centuries by the De Medici family. Wine has been produced in Tuscany for millennia, but from its creation Caiarossa decided to be different, following biodynamic principles in partnership with the highest levels of professional winemaking to ensure the truest possible expression of character and vitality of this extraordinarily diverse and vibrant terroir. Thanks to the continuous commitment and passion of the Albada Jelgersma family, our original 12-hectare vineyard has continued to grow over the years while still carefully fulfilling the founding vision. The entire Caiarossa estate now totals 100 hectares including 40 hectares of vines, 34 hectares of forest, 20 hectares of wildflower meadows and 6 hectares of olive groves.
