- WINESPECTATOR (10/2022): „Bordeaux’s Château Siran has revealed its new artist label for the 2020 vintage, created by French-Chilean painter and sculptor Federica Matta. It marks a return to the estate’s artist labels, a tradition that started in 1980 but was discontinued after 2004.
Each illustrated label reflects an important event of the year. 2020 was marked by COVID and the several confinements which we all lived,” Château Siran owner Édouard Miailhe told Wine Spectator. “This period allowed us to slow down and enjoy the simple things in life and, in particular, to be closer to nature.”“

- 90-92 Punkte Robert Parkers WINE ADVOCATE, Lisa Perrotti-Brown: „Deep garnet-purple colored, the 2020 Siran features notes of blackcurrant jelly, ripe redcurrants and raspberry leaves, plus suggestions of wild sage, tar and underbrush, with a waft of wild mushrooms. The medium-bodied palate is elegantly styled and refreshing, delivering approachable, soft tannins and plenty of red berry layers, finishing earthy.“

- 94-96 Punkte WINE ENTHSUSIAST, Roger Voss: „Barrel Sample. All the elements are showing well in this wine from the southern end of Margaux. It's an estate that is showing great promise and the wine brings together great tannins and richly delineated black fruits. It will age well.“

- 92 Punkte VINOUS, Antonio Galloni: „The 202 Siran is packed with the essence of blackberry jam, mocha, espresso, bittersweet chocolate, licorice and cloves. This dark, sumptuous Margaux is not all subtle, but it does pack quite the punch. This is an especially opulent style, tob e sure.“

- 92 Punkte VINOUS, Neal Martin: „The 2020 Siran sees the reintroduction oft he art series label. If offers black cherries and wild strawberry scents, cedar and pencil lead. Light marine scents emerge with time. The palate is medium-bodied with a powdery texture, very nicely balanced, hints of white pepper and tobacco towards the classically-lined finish. Superb, even if tasting them alongside, I find a soucon more complexity in the 2019 Siran.“

- 93 Punkte FALSTAFF, Peter Moser: „Dunkles Rubingranat, violette Reflexe, tiefer Kern, zarte Ockerrandaufhellung.

- 93 Punkte DECANTER, Jane Anson: „This is powerful and juicy with well balanced, opulent berry fruits - easy to fall in love with. This really is one of the few that has tannins that feel well caressed by the fruits, and the slightly higher than average alcohols gives a flattering feel through the mid palate. Nice job from winemaker Marjolaine Defrance and owner Edouard Miahle (who is now president of AOC Margaux, having succeeded Gonzague Lurton). Tasted twice. 1% Cabernet Franc completes the blend. 35% new oak. Hubert de Boüard consultant oenologist. Harvest September 11 to October 3. Drinking Window 2027 – 2044“

- 93 Punkte DECANTER, Georgina Hindle: „Ripe and rich black fruits on the nose, smells heady and fully aromatic in a fruit-forward way, with blackcurrants, berries and sweet Ribena edges. Juicy and supple, nicely lively in the mouth, high acidity, with quite present tannins that are a little bit chalky and enjoyably bitter. Lovely viscous texture at first, with plenty of acidity and succulence, feels extremely youthful and on the edgy side right now, but is rounded, forward and full in body. It's on the richer, riper side and a has a touch of sweet jamminess to it alongside spiced nuance and some terroir influence via the cool, minty salinity. Extremely likeable and one to watch.“

- 92 Punkte JEB DUNNUCK: „Lots of red and blue fruits, spring flowers, graphite, and leafy tobacco notes all emerge from the 2020 Château Siran, a medium-bodied, elegant, incredibly pretty and finesse-driven Margaux. It shows the fresher, elegant style of the vintage and has remarkable purity, fine tannins, and a great finish.“

- 95 Punkte JAMES SUCKLING: „This is seriously structured with blackcurrants, blueberries and iodine. It’s full yet so tight and focused with serious austerity and focus. Very classy and polished with precision. A terrific Siran. Try after 2026.“
