- 94 Punkte JAMES SUCKLING: "Bright, with crushed-stone and floral character on the nose. Medium body with a firm core, expanding through the palate. Vivid and bright. Lots of good energy. Crushed-stone and lightly chalky character at the end. Needs two or three years to come around.“
- 94 Punkte DECANTER Georgina Hindle : „Purity, precision and energy here, fresh and juicy and full of life on the palate with creamy-edged ripe, red fruits. Lovely power, with a clear Pauillac-like tannic structure but mouthfeel that is silky and smooth. A fresh mineral finish leaves the palate nicely cooled. A top buy. 2024-2040“
- 93 Punkte Falstaff, Peter Moser: „Dunkles Rubingranat, violette Reflexe, dezente Randaufhellung.
- 92 Punkte JEB DUNNUCK: „Lots of black cherries, currants, ripe tobacco, and cedar notes emerge from the 2019 Château Potensac, a medium-bodied, concentrated, beautifully pure, elegant Médoc that's well worth seeking out. It's going to continue to drink nicely for 10-15 years.“
- 92 Punkte VINOUS, Antonio Galloni: "The 2019 Potensac is fabulous. Bright and focused, the 2019 impresses with its energy, balance and total class. Crushed flowers, mint, cinnamon, crushed rocks and blood orange all open in the glass. The 2019 is class personified I love the purity here. The 2019 is a standout, and should be a terrific value, too. 2014-2039“
- 90-92+ Punkte Robert Parkers WINE ADVOCATE, Lisa Perrotti-Brown: "The 2019 Potensac is a blend of 47% Merlot, 36% Cabernet Sauvignon, 16% Cabernet Franc and 1% Petit Verdot, harvested from the 21st of September to the 9th of October. The alcohol came in at 14.05% with a pH of 3.54 and an IPT of 74. It is aging in French oak barriques, 34% new. With a deep purple-black color, the nose hits the ground running with lively scents of black raspberries, warm cassis and redcurrant jelly plus suggestions of garrigue, tilled soil, unsmoked cigars and pencil shavings. The medium to full-bodied palate is positively invigorating, offering bags of crunchy black and red berry flavors and a racy line of freshness, framed by approachable, grainy tannins and finishing with a skip in its step. In a word: FUN!"
- 91 Punkte Jeff Leve, The Wine Cellar Insider: „Medium-bodied, fresh, lively, fresh and vibrant, the wine is almost ready to go with its blast of tobacco leaf, currants, spice and touch of mint leaf on the nose and palate. The wine was produced from blending 47% Merlot , 36% Cabernet Sauvignon , 16% Cabernet Franc and 1% Petit Verdot . Drink from 2024-2038.“
- 17 Punkte JANCIS ROBINSON: "47% Merlot, 36% Cabernet Sauvignon, 16% Cabernet Franc, 1% Petit Verdot. Barrel sample.
Less exuberant and more classic than the 2018. Vibrant and fresh with an energetic feel. Nose bright and lifted. Good depth of ripe fruit. Firmly structured, the tannins grainy but honed. Persistent."

Notizen des Weinguts: | TERROIR The vineyards of Château Potensac are located on one of the highest points in the northern Médoc, and extend mainly over limestone subsoil covered with clay and gravel with a high proportion of gravel, a terroir similar to that of the Saint-Estèphe appellation. Managed by the Delon family (Léoville Las Cases) since time immemorial, this renowned cru includes plots of Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc planted over 75 years ago, producing perfectly ripe, healthy grapes. VINTAGE 2019 After a wet winter, spring was cool and increasingly dry, followed by a hot summer punctuated by showers as we got closer to the harvest period. A complicated vintage in short, where the attention had to be permanent in order to harvest splendid Merlot and Cabernets of great nobility. The wine of Château Potensac presents a classic blend, and remains dense and refined. without ever losing the magnificent mineral tension. |
