- 94 Punkte JAMES SUCKLING: „What a pretty nose. Perfumes of light cedar, sandalwood, chocolate and blackcurrants follow through to a medium body with fine and polished tannins that have length and beauty. Classy for the vintage. Drinkable now but better in two or three years.“
 

- 94 Punkte VINOUS, Antonio Galloni:  „The 2021 Batailley is quite the powerhouse. Even so, it offers fine balance. Broad tannins enshroud a core of dark-toned fruit, licorice, spice, black olive, lavender and sage. Batailley is a rare 2021 that is going to need time to come together. Its intensity, breadth and overall persistence are impressive. There‘s real textural resonance here, not to mention tons of character. 2029-2041.“
 

- 93 Punkte FALSTAFF, Peter Moser: “ Dunkles Rubingranat, violette Reflexe, zarte Ockerrandaufhellung. Feines Waldbeerkonfit, frische Pflaumen, zart nach Brombeeren, angenehme Edelholzwürze, einladendes Bukett. Stoffig, gute Komplexität, dezente Extraktsüße, reife Tannine, etwas Nugat, bereits gut entwickelt und antrinkbar, verfügt über Länge und gutes Reifepotenzial.“
 

- 93 Punkte WINE CELLAR INSIDER, Jeff Leve: „Medium-bodied, soft, elegant, fresh and chalky with nuances of chalk, tobacco leaf, forest floor, and red with black currants. The wine is soft and creamy with a nice sweetness on the elegantly-styled palate, there is a lot of charm as well as freshness here. The wine blends 76% Cabernet Sauvignon, 20% Merlot and 2% Cabernet Franc. It is interesting to note that Batailley was the first major wine released from the 2021 vintage, and it was priced the same as the 2020 vintage. Time will tell if this was a good strategy or not. Drink from 2026-2049.“

- 17 Punkte Jancis Robinson: „Tasted blind. Looks relatively evolved. Hint of charcoal on the nose. Sweet and juicy and a little simple, but easy to like in the relatively short term. Not fighting the vintage and held up well in the glass. Energetic. 2027-2037“

-  92 VINUM Wine Magazin: „Eine Pauillac-Nase wie aus dem Bilderbuch. Leichtfüssiger Gaumen, delikate Frucht, präzises Tannin, wunderbar elegant und frisch. Hat nicht die Struktur und Länge wie die grossartigen 2019er und 2020er, besticht aber mit Finesse. 2025-2040.“

- 92 Punkte Adrian van Velsen-vvWine.ch: “ Mittleres Rubinrot. Die Nase ist sehr Pauillac, Tabak, Kräuter, ein Hauch Leder, dahinter klare Cassis-Frucht, das Barrique nie aufdringlich, subtil im Hintergrund. Im Gaumen leichtfüssig und frisch, delikate Frucht, präzises Tannin, von allem genau die richtige Dosis, appellationstypisch und wunderbar elegant. Hat nicht die Struktur und Länge wie die grossartigen 2019er und 2020er, ist jedoch in Sachen Finesse voll auf meiner Linie. Gelungen. 2025-2040+“

- 92 Punkte DECANTER, Georgina Hindle: „Perfumed, floral, heady nose. Lightly framed in terms of texture, but with a really intense and concentrated core of sweet red and black fruit flavours, with cocoa powder and liquorice that go vertical as well as horizontal, filling the palate with aromas as opposed to direct weight from the tannins. Feels like a delicate and pared-back style for this estate, carefully presenting the vintage in the glass with harmony and balance. Juicy and flavourful, it will be even better after ageing. Tasted twice. 2% Petit Verdot completes the blend. Drinking Window 2025 – 2045“

 - 18 Punkte Rene Gabriels BORDEAUX TOTAL, Andre Kunz: „(76% Cabernet Sauvignon, 20% Merlot, 2% Cabernet Franc, 2% Petit Verdot) Samtenes, fruchtiges, fein cremiges Bouquet, Cassis, schwarze Kirschen, Lakritze, Korinthen, Eukalyptus. Cremiger, dichter, voller Gaumen mit dunkler, süsser Frucht, feinem Tannin, cremiger Struktur, vielfältiger, süsser Aromatik, langer, aromatischer Abgang. 18/20 2027 – 2055“

- 90-92 Punkte Robert Parkers WINE ADVOCATE, William Kelley: „The 2021 Batailley shows promise, exhibiting aromas of cassis, plums, licorice, cigar wrapper, loamy soil and dark chocolate, followed by a medium to full-bodied, layered and charming palate built around ripe, powdery tannins. Supple and giving, it will offer a broad drinking window.“
