14,5 % Vol.; Barossa Valley;
Notizen des Weinguts: „Bella’s Garden is a blend of our finest Shiraz barrels from across the region. The Barossa Valley is one of Australia’s oldest wine regions, with existing plantings of Shiraz, Grenache and Mourvèdre vines that are over 125 years old. Two Hands has produced this wine since the first vintage in 2000 and it has become a favourite among many of our followers and Shiraz lovers everywhere.
The fruit for this wine is predominately sourced from vineyards in the Barossa’s western ranges, encompassing the Greenock/Seppeltsfield/Marananga area of the region. The soil profile, made up of red-brown earth over schist, on this side of the valley creates masculine tannins and richness through the palate. Lower yielding, small bunches provide a large fruit concentration. Bella’s Garden label colour reflects the red soils of the Barossa’s western ranges where all the Two Hands estate vineyards & cellar door are located.
VINE AGE: 16-40 years; ELEVATION: 200-320m; AVERAGE RAINFALL: 450-500mm;
VINIFICATION: Fermented in five to ten tonne open top fermenters, with regular pump overs (2 times daily) to control ferment, extract colour, flavour and tannins. Average time ‘on skins’ was 7-10 days before being pressed to tank, free run and pressings combined. The wine was then racked to barrel, where malolactic fermentation took place. Bella’s Garden was bottled unfined and unfiltered. MATURATION: Aged for 16 months in French oak hogsheads, with up to 25% new and the remainder in older oak 1-4 years old.“

- 96 Punkte Owen Bargreen: The sensational 2019 Two Hands ‘Bella’s Garden’ Shiraz is a seamless, incredibly elegant Shiraz that is drinking beautifully right now at the four year mark. Once on the nose this takes on red rose petals that combine with red cherry candy, guava, wild blackberry and chocolate cake notes. The palate is very soft and refined with a seamless texture. Quite literally a joy to drink right now, this irresistible wine will evolve well for another ten years to come. 2023-2033.“

- 92 Punkte Wine Enthusiast: Densely packed aromas of blackcurrant cordial, violets, mint, cedar, bay leaf and ground baking spice carries through to a full figured palate that oozes jammy fruit. It's balanced by savory spiced tannins, a touch of toasty oak and a good lick of acidity. Drink now with a decanter at hand and throughout the next decade.“

- 92 Punkte Parkers WINE ADVOCATE, Joe Czerwinski:
Largely dark-fruited, the 2019 Bella's Garden Shiraz boasts scents of blackberries, plums and cola. It's medium to full-bodied, supple and almost creamy in texture, finishing with savory notes of black olive and spice. While it's not as flamboyant as some of the other Garden series wines this year, it shows remarkable harmony and complexity. 2021-2030.
Although I suspect the 99-point 2016 My Hands will garner a fair bit of attention, this is an impressive lineup of 2019s from Two Hands, including some fine efforts in the Garden range- and a couple that fall short, perhaps showing the unevenness of the vintage. The Garden wines will be more widely available than the Block wines, yet if you can identify which Blocks you're likely to prefer, my advice is to go the extra mile for them, as they express more site specificity and individual character.“

- 92 Punkte, Halliday Wine Companion, Tyson Stelzer: “A blend from 9 districts across the northern and western Barossa floor; 16-40yo vines. Spicy black/red berry fruits define the Barossa, suspended in a frame of dark and milk chocolate oak. Bright acidity and fine-grained tannins hold medium-term promise. It accurately delivers the regional signature it promises, albeit without the distinction or persistence of Two Hands' finest Barossans.“

Über die GARDEN SERIES:
