- 99 Punkte James Suckling (07/2026): " Wonderful aromas of cooked apples, bread dough, meringue, honeysuckle, lilacs and some lavender. Medium-bodied with density and focus, a tight palate and a lovely texture. Creamy mouthfeel. Long and seamless finish. Pure chardonnay. Aged for five or six months on the lees in 228-liter barrels. Disgorged January 2025. 9 g/L dosage. Drink or hold.“
- 97 Punkte JAMES SUCKLING, Claire Nesbitt: „Apricots, hazelnuts, lemons, white flowers, sliced almonds and hints of licorice on the nose. It's creamy and layered, with soft, rounded bubbles that spread across the palate. Lovely balance of breadth, ripeness and freshness, with delicious wildflower honey and nut notes lingering. 100% grand cru chardonnay from Avize, Mesnil-sur-Oger, Oger, Cramant and Chouilly. Drink or hold.“
Zeitlos. 2025-2045.“- 17,5++ Punkte Jancis Robinson: „Not just toast but that grilled sourdough aroma you get in fancy cafés – mouth-watering! Savoury umami notes too: perhaps there's Marmite on that toast. Crunchy green-apple fruit which is surprisingly perky for its age, and a lighter body than I remember from previous vintages of this. The autolytic complexity continues on the palate, while the fruit becomes more like lemon sherbet. Not quite a long finish yet: this feels like there is more to unfurl. Wonderfully clean and lifted, none of the dried fruit of some vintage champagnes. 2024-2038.“

- 96 Punkte, DECANTER Tom Hewson (11/2025): „Taittinger's Comtes de Champagne shines in 2014. It's a vintage that offered crisp yet open and beautifully defined wines from the grand cru Chardonnays of the Côte des Blancs. This is still primary and youthful, its zesty roasted grapefruit, sweet clementine and pineapple flavours meet juicy white peach and gentle ageing flavours of demerara sugar and toasted brioche. It's a little less intense and dynamic than 2013 but equally fine in its restrained, racy energy. With even a short time on cork the classic toasty Comtes richness will start to emerge. 2026-2040.“
- 96 Punkte Andreas Larsson-Tasted: „Light golden with a bright hue and vivid, delicate bubbles. The nose starts out a bit shy but opens with chalky notes, lemongrass and ripe citrus, followed by hazelnut, mild toast, pale stone fruit, fresh butter and sweet pastry (yet remaining comfortably dry on the palate ). Elegant palate showing great purity and more length than breadth, finely nuanced with a mellow creaminess, pure fruit and conit de citron leading to a long and pristine finish.“
- 96 Punkte R. Parkers WINE ADVOCATE, Kristaps Karklins (12/2025): Occupying a stylistic middle ground between the incisiveness of the 2013 and the fleshier textures of the 2012, Taittinger’s 2014 Blanc de Blancs Comtes de Champagne—disgorged in July 2024 with a dosage of nine grams per liter—has turned out beautifully. It offers aromas of orange peel, peach, pear and brioche mingled with hazelnut and burnt buttered toast. On the palate, it is full-bodied, ample and textural, with a layered yet crisp core of fruit, considerable tension and a long, chalky finish. Harmonious and racy-fresh though it is, this is a marginally richer rendition than the 2013 tasted alongside it, yet both promise excellent longevity and will make for fascinating comparative tastings in the years to come. 2026-2054.“
- Magazin SommelierS International: „The art of blending In June 2025, Maison Taittinger inaugurated the Polychrome Table at its historic headquarters in Reims. Conceived as a tribute to the art of blending, this exceptional table offers visitors a unique sensory immersion where each guest becomes the artist of their own blend.
Here, every participant is invited to explore, taste, and create by pairing the dishes imagined by Chef Charles Coulombeau with the House’s different cuvées.
This experience is part of Taittinger’s broader offering, which also includes cellar tours and the Chromatique concept store. It provides the perfect opportunity to (re)discover some of the House’s most emblematic cuvées, as well as to explore its latest gems, such as Comtes de Champagne 2014, available since October. Sourced from meticulously selected parcels in the Côte des Blancs, this 100% Chardonnay Grand Cru reveals the character of a vintage defined by freshness, precision, and energy. Aged for 10 years in the cellars, dosed at 8–9 g/l and vinified 6–8% in oak barrels for 4–6 months, this cuvée shows remarkable intensity and promises excellent ageing potential.
Tasting review
Color: pale golden yellow with bright reflections and a fine, intense bead of bubbles. Nose: opens with refined aromas of candied lemon, pear, white flowers, and chalk, enhanced by a subtle toasted note.
Palate: silky texture supported by delicate effervescence and perfectly integrated acidity. The chalky minerality typical of the Côte des Blancs shapes the wine, bringing both tension and length. The finish is pure and persistent, with lingering notes of citrus and almond.
Pairing: roasted turbot with beurre noisette, cauliflower mousseline, and lemon emulsion.
Comment: a great Blanc de Blancs with superb ageing potential.

| Notizen des Weinguts: | The Comtes de Champagne Blanc de Blancs is the finest example of the Taittinger House style and is always a vintage cuvée. It is made with 100% white grapes from the 5 villages with a Grands Crus classification for the Chardonnay grape (Avize, Chouilly, Cramant, Oger, Mesnil-sur-Oger). This cuvée is created using juice from the first press only. A small percentage (5 %) of the blend is aged in fresh oak barrels to create the very delicate balance of toasted notes in the final wine. Taittinger knows it must be patient with these great Chardonnays, which are the crowning glory of its terroir; the Comtes de Champagne Blanc de Blancs remains for up to 10 years in the chalk quarries beneath Saint-Nicaise, before emerging to ignite and delight the palates of wine-lovers. |
