Full-bodied, ample and enveloping, with a fleshy core of fruit, powdery tannins and lively acids, it's a rich, generous, demonstrative wine that remains nicely balanced. Part of Fonroque's biodynamically farmed holdings are located on Saint-Émilion's limestone plateau, and the rest on the slopes, with more clay and colluvium.“

When you sit with it the juice comes through, and this is very attractive, well placed cassis and raspberry fruits, soft white pepper spicing and a saline kick on the finish. Come back in 6-8 years and enjoy how mouthwateringly enjoyable this is going to be. A yield of 40hl/ha. Drinking Window 2026 – 2040“

Vibrant crimson. Rather reticent but subtle nose. Very attractive spiciness and not too much sweetness. Good balance between fruit, acidity and tannin. Really racy, appetising wine. But not super-concentrated. Restrained overall.“

Giving up lots of mulled currants, spiced black cherries, cedar pencil, and Asian spices, it hits the palate with medium to full-bodied richness, beautifully integrated oak, and a great finish. I'd be thrilled with bottles in the cellar.“
