- Notizen des Weinguts: Stunning aromas of butterscotch and caramel seduce the senses guiding to a tightly wound, yet explosive, fine-tuned palate that exudes elegance and is reminiscent of the limestone terroir that the grapes stem from. Preserved lemons, marzipan, pears and honey notes flood the perfectly balanced, complex mouth feel. Luxurious and intense, this powerful bottling leaves a lasting impression in the seemingly endless, textured finish. To be served at 10-12°C (50-54°F). Ageing potential: 6-15 years.“

- 96 Punkte VINOUS, Neal Martin: "The 2018 Chevalier-Montrachet Grand Cru has a kaleidoscopic nose with mineral-rich yellow fruit, chalk and apple blossom, cohering marvelously with aeration. The palate is beautifully balanced, quite powerful with real weight and density. Plenty of extract towards the finish. There is just the right amount of bitterness to keep this edgy. Excellent. Tasted blind at the Burgfest 2018 white tasting. 2025-2050“

- 95 Punkte WINESPECTATOR's Insider Weekly, Bruce Sanderson: "Lime blossom, peach, pear and toasty oak flavors are the highlights of this full-bodied white. A backbone of vivid acidity keeps it well-defined and drives the long finish. It's classy and refined, with an aftertaste of lime, mineral and spice revealing its future promise. Best from 2023 through 2032."

- 94 Punkte Jasper Morris, Inside Burgundy: „Delightful clear bright colour. Fresh fruit on the nose, delicious potential. This is extremely pure and very fine. Not massive. White flowers as well as fruit, Chablis Blanchot comes to Chevalier-Montrachet, with a saline touch to finish. Discreet and very long. Really rather gorgeous with quite a sensual aftertaste.“

- 91-94 Punkte BURGHOUND, Allen Meadows: “Tasting note: Here the wood regimen is no longer subtle though it stops short of dominating the intensely floral-suffused aromas of apple and pear compote, mineral reduction and spice. There is impressive size, weight and richness to the full-bodied and overtly powerful flavors that possess a succulent mid-palate while delivering excellent length on the stony and bone-dry finish. This too is going to require extended patience. 2030+.“

- Jasper Morris MW, Inside Burgundy über Philippe Colin: „Philippe Colin set up in modern premises in the industrial zone of Chassagne with his share of the Colin-Deleger vineyards, along with others which he has acquired or rents. Philippe is fortunate to get two bites at the Puligny Demoiselles cherry – his own small plot which has just been replanted, and a share of the fruit from the mature plot belonging to the SCI St-Abdon.

The Philippe Colin style is for elegance and subtlety ahead of overt weight and power. He has moved to using mostly larger barrels, without a significant proportion of new wood. The wines are closed using corks with a layer of wax above the cork but below the top of the bottle, then covered with a standard capsule.

From the 2021 vintage Philippe has handed over a number of vineyards to his son, Simon, who now makes them under his own label. Philippe also migrates from time to time to South Africa where he purchased a winery, Topiary, in Franschhoek in 2014.“

Notizen des Weinguts: Chevalier-Montrachet is one of the five grand cru sites on the border of Puligny-Montrachet and Chassagne-Montrachet. Shallow, well-drained soils of limestone and calcareous clay on very sloping inclines impart a delicacy to the wines grown here. The average age of the vines, which are trained in the Single Guyot method, is approximately 50 years, ranging from 37 to 60 years old.
