- 94 Punkte VINOUS Antonio Galloni: "A fleshy deep, wine, the 2015 Cabernet Sauvignon Estate exudes richness and sheer exotic beauty from the very first taste. As always, the Togni wines need bottle age to be at their best. In 2015, time will mostly help the aromatics develop, as the tannins are quite soft for such a young wine. Expressive floral and savory notes develop with time in the glass, but the 2015 is years away from hitting its stride. It will be interesting to see where the 2015 goes in the coming years and decades. Sadly, yields are down a whopping 50%."

- 95 Punkte INTERNATIONAL WINEREPORT: "The 2015 Philip Togni Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon is absolutely fascinating. It begins with an array of alluring aromatics, weaving together a lovely mix of dark and red berries combined with spring florals, graphite and a savory edge that are nearly impossible to resist. On the palate, this possesses an elegant, yet beautifully structured and restraint mouthfeel, combined with excellent overall balance and precision. This is remarkably well made and displays the characteristics Togni's wines are historically known for. Overall, this is utterly compelling wine which will thrive in the cellar and evolve gracefully for decades."

- 96 Punkte Robert Parkers WINE ADVOCATE: " Medium garnet-purple colored, the 2015 Cabernet Sauvignon Estate has a very classic nose of cassis, warm plums and crushed blackberries with notions of cigar box, garrigue, damp soil and truffles plus wafts of menthol and underbrush. The palate is medium to full-bodied with a firm frame of grainy tannins and wonderful freshness, finishing long and minerally."

- 96 Punkte WINESPECTATOR, James Molesworth:
"A focused, tannic style, featuring tobacco and sage notes intermixed liberally with steeped currant and blackberry fruit flavors, with cast iron and graphite hints flowing underneath. This has loads of character and range, showing vigorous, savory-edged cut. Youthfully rugged, with bramble-edged grip to burn. Cellaring will let all the elements meld. Best from 2021 through 2040. 790 cases made."

Notizen des Weinguts: The 2015 was a short crop of only 48 barrels in a year that suffered from drought conditions and was very hot during harvest, which began on September 9th. Thus we were able to bottle: 790 cases of Philip Togni Cabernet in 750ml bottles 65 cases of Philip Togni Cabernet in magnum 315 cases of Tanbark Hill Cabernet in 750ml bottles For those of you unfamiliar with our vineyard, we are located at 2000 feet elevation on Spring Mountain, in the western hills of the Napa Valley, so that we are above the fog line in a climatic zone totally different from the valley floor. The ten-acre vineyard is planted as 82% Cabernet Sauvignon, 15% Merlot, 2% Cabernet Franc and 1% Petit Verdot. All wines are estate bottled, which means that we only use the grapes that we grow here and farm ourselves, and are extremely long lived.
