- 94 Punkte und "Editor's Choice" WINE ENTHUSIAST, Virginie Boone: "To call this a second label of Spottswoode's isn't quite fair, it's such a well-made, thoughtfully considered wine in its own right. Juicy black currant, tart cranberry, licorice and clove meet a wall of toasted oak and chocolate in a medium-bodied, approachable and properly balanced expression of the variety that will impress seekers of restraint and grace."

- 17 Punkte JANCIS ROBINSON, Elaine Chukan Brown: "Black fruits and spice, lavender and violets lift from the glass. The palate offers rich flavour without heaviness though there is plenty of presence and a bit of heat here. Notes of cocoa powder and cracked pepper combine with those shown through the nose. This is a generous wine meant to reward with polished tannin and ample flavour while also carrying through a long finish with mouth-watering acidity. A sophisticated crowd-pleaser."

- 93 Punkte INTERNATIONAL WINEREPORT: "The 2014 'Lyndenhurst' Cabernet Sauvignon is a wonderful showing from Spottswoode. This blend consists of 90% Cabernet Sauvignon along with 3% Cabernet Franc, 3% Petit Verdot, 2% Malbec and 2% Merlot which was sourced from various vineyards across the entire valley. It opens to an inviting bouquet of cassis and black currants woven together with tobacco, spices, and hints of sweet toasted nuances all taking shape. A beautifully structured and balanced wine, which shows excellent depth and concentration. The full, opulent texture impresses as stretches through the long finish. A fantastic wine from Spottswoode, that offers immediate appeal, however will likely be even more appealing with just a bit more bottle age."

- 94 Punkte JAMES SUCKLING: "A rich and dense red with a powerful palate of ripe fruit and chewy tannins. Lots of blackberry and blueberry character. Expanding tannins. Needs two or three years to soften."
