- 98+ Punkte Robert Parkers WINE ADVOCATE: "The 2015 Grenache Le Chemin Vers L'Heresie is a blend of 75% Grenache, 13% Mourvèdre, 8% Touriga Nacional and 4% Petite Sirah, coming 35% from The Third Twin (Estate) Vineyard, 9% from Bien Nacido Vineyard, 28% from the Cumulus (Estate) Vineyard, 26% from the Eleven Confessions (Estate) Vineyard and 2% from Molly Aida (Estate) Vineyard. It was produced using 44% whole cluster and aged for around 22 months in French oak, 11% new (bottled August 21, 2017). It has a deep garnet-purple color and fragrant nose of violets, kirsch, blueberry compote and dark chocolate with hints of lavender, smoky bacon, Provence herbs and menthol. Full-bodied, rich, concentrated and bold, the wines bursts with energy, superbly framed by velvety tannins and seamless freshness, finishing with lingering sautéed herbs and black pepper notions. 1,204 cases of 750 milliliter bottles and 600 magnum bottles were made."
- 96-98 Punkte VINOUS Antonio Galloni: "The 2015 Grenache Le Chemin vers l'Hérésie is a total turn-on. Rich, ripe and voluptuous, but with considerable aromatic nuance from the 44% whole clusters, the 2015 has it all. Time in the glass brings out floral and red-toned Grenache varietal notes, and the flavors are remarkably vivid and intense today. Even so, readers will have to cellar this for at least a few years. All the elements are in place for the 2015 to develop into a spectacular wine. I can't wait to see how it ages. The 2015 is 75% Grenache, 13% Mourvèdre, 8% Touriga Nacional and 4% Petite Sirah, done with 44% whole clusters (for the Grenache and Mourvèdre)."
- 95-97 JEB DUNNUCK: "Both 2015s were tasted out of barrel and the 2015 Grenache le Chemin Vers l?Heresie is 75% Grenache, 13% Mourvèdre, 8% Touriga Nacional and the rest Petite Sirah. It saw 44% whole clusters (all from the Grenache and Mourvèdre) and will see just under two years in mostly used barrels. Tight, fresh, full-bodied and structured, with very little baby fat, this serious 2015 sports a deep purple color as well as classic notes of black cherries, garrigue (wild herbs, thyme, rosemary, fennel) and spice. Coming from mostly equal parts The Third Twin, Cumulus and Eleven Confessions vineyards (there?s small portions from Bien Nacido and Molly Aida), it will be interesting to see if this opens up slightly once bottled, or if it stays in this tight, closed style. In either case, the cellar is going to be your friend."

|Notizen des Weinguts:||Mother Nature did toy with us in what ended up a rather wonderful year. Namely the yields were brutally low and frankly somewhat nerve wrecking and at first blush most grape varieties seemed more sinewy and tense and tightly wound than what we imagined would arrive. But that might have been an exaggerated impression because they followed the overly pliant, almost slutty 2014s. In the end, the wines found a lovely equilibrium. They still have a strong backbone, but there is enough flesh and stature that it makes them athletic and stately and well-toned. Since we have been influenced by and referenced that speech at the Sorbonne in Paris we once again went with French names (God help us). Here now are some more details on these licentious packers. The 2015 Grenache Le chemin vers l?hérésie means ?the path to heresy.? As you surely know heresy is a belief contrary to orthodox doctrine, strongly at variance with established beliefs ?it is a term usually used relative to religious teachings, but it is also used of views stronglyopposed to any generally accepted ideas; a dissention, nonconformity, unorthodoxy andeven blasphemy. I am sure not much has to be added to ?explain? more. The cuvee is apaganistic marriage of 75% Grenache, 13% Mourvedre, 8% Touriga Nacional (The Man made a mistake here ? this should have been a Rhone variety) and 4% Petite Sirah. We used44% whole clusters to ferment this beauty. This mama is surprisingly dark for Grenache. There are terrific aromas and flavors of lots of blueberries, black cherries, garrigue (wildherbs, thyme, rosemary, fennel), spice and even some fountain pen ink. It has a full, voluptuous texture that covers every crevice of your mouth. There are lots of tannins, butthey are lush and satiny. Although the wine starts out with a punch, it is really quite lovelyand like liquid velvet. There is not only a path to ?heresy? but also a path to cellaring as thiswill clearly reward further patience and time, although I am sure you will find it tantalizingright off the delivery truck.|
