- 93 Punkte INTERNATIONAL WINEREPORT: "The Estate Cabernet is an outstanding showing in this vintage. It begins with vivid aromas of black currants, blackberries, violets, graphite, exotic spices and hints of tobacco which all come together and soar from the glass. On the palate this is medium-bodied and displays incredible overall balance with a wonderful combination of ripe fruit and bright acidity at its core. Beautifully structured, with fine tannins, this exudes sheer class and sophistication. Composed of 81% Cabernet Sauvignon, 16% Merlot, 2% Petit Verdot, 1% Cabernet Franc, the Estate Cabernet should age gracefully for many years to come."
- 92 Punkte Robert Parkers WINE ADVOCATE, William Kelley: "The 2015 Cabernet Sauvignon Estate (which hails from the Monte Bello Vineyard) is already quite expressive, revealing aromas of blackcurrant, ripe cherries, cigar box and burning embers, framed by a judicious application of new oak. On the palate, it's medium-bodied, supple and nicely balanced, with fine-grained tannins, a good core of ripe fruit and a pure finish. While the Estate Cabernet is explicitly crafted to be approachable in its youth, this should be well worth following for the next 15 years. The 2015 blend is 81% Cabernet Sauvignon, 16% Merlot, 2% Petit Verdot and 1% Cabernet Franc."
- 92 Punkte VINOUS Antonio Galloni: "Ridge's 2015 Estate Cabernet Sauvignon is incredibly refined and polished. In some vintages the Estate Cabernet needs time in bottle to be at its best. That is not the case with the 2015, which is sumptuous, open-knit and positively stunning in its beauty. Stylistically, the 2015 is decidedly on the riper, more sumptuous side of things for Ridge, and yet all the elements are impeccably balanced throughout. Soft tannins add to the wine's considerable appeal."- 94 Punkte JEB DUNNUCK: "Coming all from the estate Monte Bello Vineyard in the Santa Cruz Mountains, the 2015 Cabernet Sauvignon Estate checks in as a blend of 81% Cabernet Sauvignon, 16% Merlot, and the balance Petit Verdot and Cabernet Franc. I suspect it's as good as many vintages of Monte Bello in the past and offers a gorgeous perfume of vanilla-tinged blackberries, blueberries, incense, cedar pencil, and bay leaf. Deep, medium to full-bodied, incredibly polished and perfectly balanced, with ultra-fine tannin, it's a knockout bottle of Ridge Cabernet Sauvignon that will keep for two decades and be drinkable for all of it."
- 17 Punkte JANCIS ROBINSON: "Wonderful cassis definiton here ? so sweet and succulent, yet with impressively firm structure then an aftertaste of sweet vanilla oak. Absolutely prototypical for top Californian Cabernet."

|Notizen des Weinguts:||Winemaker Tasting Notes: Deep purple color. Aromas of blackcurrant, cherries, clove spice, toasted oak, and cocoa. Ripe bramble fruit entry, medium-full body, supple tannins, and sweet oak; firm acid persists in a long finish. Vintage notes: Early harvest at Monte Bello had, for the first time ever, all varietals ripen in one month?September. We reduced whole berry fermentation time to accommodate the fast-paced harvest, yet extraction of color and tannin was abundant. By taste, the most approachable lots were selected at assemblage. This superb vintage aged in american oak, and was bottled at twenty-two months, once tannins had softened. It will show well over the next ten years. Growing season: Rainfall: 11.8 inches (40% of normal) Bloom: Mid-May Weather: Very dry December & January; most of the rain fell February through April. Overall above average temperatures at Monte Bello. Winemaking: Harvest Dates: 2- 24 September Grapes: Average brix 24.6° Fermentation: Grapes destemmed, and sorted ; 100% whole berries fermented on the native yeasts. Pressed at six days. Natural malolactic initiated in tank, finished in barrel with additional 16 weeks of lees contact. Selection: Fifteen of twenty estate parcels. Barrels: 100% air-dried american oak barrels; (70% new, 30% two and three years old). Aging: Nineteen months in barrel Sustainably farmed, hand-harvested, estate-grown grapes; destemmed and sorted; fermented on the native yeasts; full malolactic on the naturally occurring bacteria; 0.25g/L calcium carbonate to moderate high natural acidity in four of twenty distinct parcels; 1.7% water addition to twelve of the twenty lots; minimum effective sulfur (25ppm at crush, 120 ppm during aging); a fining of 5 fresh, egg whites per barrel for the press wine; pad filtered at bottling.
