Beschreibung

- 91-93 Punkte VINOUS, Neal Martin: „The 2019 Chassagne-Montrachet Les Vergers 1er Cru needs some coaxing from the glass, eventually revealing lemon sherbet and orange zest aromas, just a touch of marzipan in the background. The palate is clean and precise, the new oak is neatly integrated with a harmonious and poised finish with blood orange notes on the aftertaste. One of my picks from the domaine this year.“

- 90-93 Punkte BURGHOUND: „Moderate reduction overshadows the fruit though notes of petrol and wood poke through. Otherwise there is good richness to the sleek and caressing medium weight flavors that possess a beguiling texture while delivering very solid depth and persistence on the balanced finale. This should both drink well young and reward 5 to 8 years of cellaring.“

- 93 Punkte WINE ENTHUSIAST, Anna Lee C. Iijima: „Ample and sun drenched, this full-bodied Chardonnay offers rich, dense apricot and yellow-plum flavors. Powerful and broad, it's a creamy, mouthfilling sip accented by hints of sweet spice and smoke. Lemony acidity lends freshness on the finish. Welcoming young, the wine should drink at peak through 2027.“

Notizen des Weinguts: Vineyards: « Les Vergers » vineyard is located at the edge of Chassagne-Montrachet, bordering the vineyards of Saint-Aubin. It is sets directly below the Premier Cru of « Les Chaumées » and just above the Premier Cru « Les Chenevottes ». Shallow soils of calcareous clay impart an elegance to the wines grown here. The age of the vines ranges from 10-65 years old. Tasting notes: One of Chassagne-Montrachet’s most elegant and luxurious wines, this complex bottling strikes a brilliant balance between the mineral character and the powerful, spicy character. Ripe fruit and slight flint aromatics deceive, as they guide to a palate that is broader, deeply expressive and full bodied with pure fruit and chalk, rounding out with a long mineral-tinged finish. Ideal with noble white meats or fish like salmon. To be served at 10-12°C. Ageing potential: 5-7 years.
