57% Pinot Noir, 28% Chardonnay, 15% Meunier aus Villers Allerand 1er Cru, Ecueil 1er Cru, Bouzy Grand Cru; Durchschnittsalter der Reben: 30 Jahre; Größtenteils Ton-Kalksteinböden, etwas sandiger Kalk, Weinbergsarbeit nach biologischen, biodynamischen und wenn nötig klassischen Methoden; Dosage: 3,5 g/l
- 95 Punkte DECANTER "Great value Champagne made by growers", Simon Field: "Fulsome colour and temperamentally big-boned , this is an impressive example. The six grams of residual sugar finely knit into a texture of ripe, red-berried fruit. The finish has an ethereal poise, brought down to earth by just a hint of spice. TH: Immediately vital in the mouth. Very chewy and demanding, a serious champagne but pretty exciting. Citrus character but with complex fruit and a pretty lingering finish. I like this!"
- 92 Punkte Robert Parkers WINE ADVOCATE, William Kelley: "Based on the 2015 vintage, complemented by fully 50% reserve wines, the NV Brut Premier Cru Platine ferments in recently used barrels with native yeasts and sees more than six months on the lees before tirage. Offering up aromas of crisp yellow orchard fruits, beeswax, almond paste and white flowers, it's medium to full-bodied, vinous and concentrated, with lovely depth at the core, brisk acids and a long, sapid finish. It was disgorged in November 2019 with six grams per liter dosage."
- 92 Punkte WINE ENTHUSIAST, Roger Voss: "With vines on the Montagne de Reims, this producer has a good line in Pinot Noir, which forms 85% of the blend. The wine is rich while well balanced and ripe. Now with just the right amount of bottle aging, it is full in the mouth, showing attractive apple and ripe pear flavors. The aftertaste is soft and fresh."

- Peter Liem: “A blend of 63 percent pinot noir, 23 percent chardonnay and 14 percent meunier, this contains 50 percent of reserve wine, and 55 percent of the total was vinified in barrel. It’s vivid and sappy, with a polished texture and voluptuous depth on the palate, and while it shows the ripeness typical of its base vintage, it remains clean and fruity. It finishes with excellent length, inviting you back for more. Last tasted: 1/20.“
- JoS, verkostet im Februar 2021: „Mittelkräftiges Goldgelb, sehr feine, gleichmäßige Bläschen; offen und direkt, Aromen von gelben Früchten, nussige Anklänge, reife rote Äpfel, Kräuter, Schwarzbrotkruste, Gewürznoten; am Gaumen weinig, kraftvoll, intensiv, mineralisch unterlegt, balanciert, druckvoll, vielschichtig, mittlere Säure, langer Abgang. Sehr gut.“
-Sally Hillman’s Top Ten Champagnes of 2021: „A classic blend of 50% Pinot noir and 50% Chardonnay from the Montagne de Reims, Extra Brut is Nicolas Maillart’s introductory cuvée, achieving elegant consistency and superb richness with each release. Boasting a high percentage of barrel-aged reserve wines and fresh Chardonnay accents, Extra Brut is festive and versatile in
its mesmerising ability to elevate all moments and experiences.“
