Joseph Phelps Insignia 2016
0,75 l @ 214,00 Euro
6er OHK
Magnums 1,5 l @ 468,00 Euro

- 97-100 Punkte Robert Parkers WINE ADVOCATE, Lisa Perrotti-Brown: “A barrel sample made up of 84% Cabernet Sauvignon, 10% Petit Verdot, 3% Cabernet Franc and 3% Malbec to be aged for 24 months in 100% new French oak, the 2016 Insignia Proprietary Red Wine has a deep garnet-purple color and is a little reticent at this still nascent stage (to be bottled in January 2019), opening out to reveal chocolate-covered cherries, wild blueberries and black raspberries with touches of underbrush, cedar chest and bouquet garni plus a hint of grilled meat. Medium to full-bodied, the palate springs forth with exciting energy, offering loads of red and black fruit layers and compelling herbal sparks, featuring a firm, fine-grained backbone and bags of freshness lifting the finish. 13,500 cases are expected to be made.”

- 98 Punkte INTERNATIONAL WINEREPORT: “The 2016 ‘Insignia’ is an absolutely incredible showing, and is amongst the most compelling vintages I have yet to taste from the Estate. Composed of 84% Cabernet Sauvignon, 10% Petit Verdot, 3% Cabernet Franc and 3% Malbec which spent 24 months in 100% new french oak. As this unwinds in the glass it begins to release its seductive aromatics of ripe dark currants, crème de cassis and blueberries along with fresh violets, pencil shavings, wild sage brush and exotic spices. On the palate this is full-bodied, with a gorgeous rich, opulent texture that is beautifully balance by a lovely touch if underlying acidity keeping it fresh and inviting all the way through the long enveloping finish. Displaying a remarkable combination of both power and precision, the 2016 is a total stunner and will go on to have a marvelous future for many years to come.”

- 96-98 Punkte JEB DUNNUCK: “Not yet bottled, the 2016 Insignia should match – or exceed – the 2015, yet it shows a slightly more vibrant, cooler, more classic character. Vibrant notes of crème de cassis, violets, crushed rocks, and lead pencil all give way to a full-bodied 2016 that has silky tannins, no hard edges, and thrilling purity of fruit. It’s going to be reasonably approachable on release, yet I suspect won’t hit prime time until 4-5 years after the vintage and should cruise for 2-3 decades.”

- 98 Punkte JAMES SUCKLING: “Lovely density and intensity with dark berries, blueberries and inky undertones with hints of spice, chocolate and walnuts. Medium to full body, fine tannins and a flavorful finish. The texture and length are fantastic here. Complex. Hints of smoky wood at the end. This needs three to five years more in bottle age. Exciting wine. Try after 2022.“

Joseph Phelps Cabernet Sauvignon 2016 0,75 l @ 61,80 Euro

- 94 Punkte INTERNATIONAL WINEREPORT: “The 2016 Joseph Phelps Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon is the finest release of this wine I have come across in quite some time. Composed of 86% Cabernet Sauvignon, 7% Merlot, 3% Petit Verdot, 2% Malbec and 2% Cabernet Franc, which was aged 18 months in 48% new oak barrels, and 52% in one- to two-year-old French and American oak barrels. This instantly impresses as it bursts open with seductive aromas of ripe dark currants and black cherries woven together with sweet baking spices, mocha, sage and hints of dusty minerals. On the palate this is full-bodied and voluptuous, with beautifully polished tannins. It displays outstanding overall depth with layers of beautifully ripe dark fruits and sweet spice flavors resonating through the opulent finish. While this is already absolutely sensational, it also possesses the potential to age gracefully and offer up to decades of drinking pleasure. This is a total success from the team at Joseph Phelps.”

- 93 Punkte Robert Parkers WINE ADVOCATE, Lisa Perrotti-Brown: “The 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon is made up of 86% Cabernet Sauvignon, 7% Merlot, 3% Petit Verdot, 2% Malbec and 2% Cabernet Franc aged for 18 months in 48% new French and American oak and bottled in May/June of 2018. Deep garnet-purple colored, it sings of crushed blackcurrants, blackberry pie and blueberry compote with suggestions of cigar box, menthol, rose hip tea and baking spices. Medium to full-bodied, the palate is packed with vibrant black fruit laced with plenty of spicy sparks, framed by grainy tannins and oodles of freshness and finishing long with a menthol kick. 36,000 cases produced.”

- 93 Punkte und “Editor’s Choice” WINE ENTHUSIAST, Virginie Boone: “This lovely wine shows exceptional quality and complexity within a bold, expansive package of thick, grippy tannin and layered flavors of blackberry, tobacco and smoked meat. It is blended with 7% Merlot, 3% Petit Verdot and 2% each of Malbec and Petit Verdot.”

Inglenook Estate Rubicon 2016 0,75 l @ 159,00 Euro
6er OHK
97 Vinous Antonio Galloni; 97 James Suckling; 95 Parkers WINE ADVOCATE
Inglenook Estate Rubicon 2015 0,75 l @ 159,00 Euro
6er OHK

- 96 Punkte VINOUS, Antonio Galloni: “The 2015 Cabernet Sauvignon Rubicon is a dark, exotic beauty. Dark cherry, plum, chocolate, and menthol make a strong opening statement as this bold, sumptuous wine shows off its personality. Radiant, supple and super-expressive, the 2015 is just as enjoyable as it has always been. The 2015 is just starting to open up, but it remains very, very young. Time in the glass brings out an attractive floral component that adds lift.”

- 95-96 Punkte JAMES SUCKLING: “Blackberry, blueberry, fresh mushroom and Spanish-cedar aromas. Full body and silky tannins with a lovely high tone of chocolate, currants and berries.”

- 95  Punkte und “Editor’s Choice” WINE ENTHUSIAST, Virginie Boone: “From the esteemed producer's gorgeous estate, including 3% Merlot, this is impressive and structured—a leathery, viscous and concentrated expression of a great site in an intense vintage. Gunpowder, oak and black-cherry compote form around brightly captured acidity and a lasting fistful of baking spice that lingers and softens the finish.”

- 95+ Punkte JEB DUNNUCK: “A blend of 97% Cabernet Sauvignon and 3% Merlot, the 2015 Rubicon is slightly deeper in color than the 2014 and offers a deeper, more concentrated, yet slightly compact style that's common in this vintage. Blackcurrants, scorched earth, cedary spice, leafy herbs and licorice all flow to a ripe, beautifully concentrated, deep wine that needs 5-7 years of cellaring and will make for incredible drinking over the following 15+ years.”

Inglenook Cabernet Sauvignon Rutherford 2016 0,75 l @ 68,00 Euro

95 Vinous Antonio Galloni; 94 James Suckling;

Inglenook Cabernet Sauvignon Rutherford 2015 0,75 l @ 68,00 Euro

- 95 Punkte und “Cellar Selection” WINE ENTHUSIAST, Virginie Boone: “This bottling reflects the past several years' fine-tuning the winery's vision in the vineyard and in the cellar. Including small amounts of Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot, Merlot and Malbec, it's a rounded, concentrated wine that expresses the vintage with ripe, grippy tannins that beg for further resolution. Blackberry, clove and leather flavors rise to the fore. Cellar through 2035.”

- 95 Punkte VINOUS, Antonio Galloni: “A dense, succulent wine, the 2015 Cabernet Sauvignon captures all the raw power and density of the year. The 2015 is just starting to soften, but ideally it needs another few years in bottle to be at its finest. Readers should expect an especially opulent style, and yet the 2015 has more than enough depth to drink well for another 15+ years or more.”

- 94-95 Punkte JAMES SUCKLING: “Blackberries and wet earth with hints of peat. Full body, beautiful fruit and hints of chocolate, tar and spices. Lovely length, too. Excellent potential.“

DER CHEVAL BLANC AUS DEN ANDEN
Vorverkauf, verfügbar im Oktober/November 2019.

Cheval des Andes 2016 @ 70,00 Euro

Magnum 1,5 l  @ 140,00 Euro
Doppelmagnum 3,0 l @ 280,00 Euro
58% Malbec - 37% Cabernet Sauvignon - 5% Petit Verdot

99 J. Suckling: “Super refined and beautiful with flowers, spices, dried fruit and hints of stones. Medium to full body with very fine tannins and a gorgeous finish. Shows great finesse and depth. Savory character, as always, but in check. Drink in 2022.“
97+ R. Parkers Wine Advocate, L. Gutierrez:
“The new vintage to be released in September 2019 is the 2016 Cheval des Andes, which was cropped from a completely unusual year—cooler than the average and with an exceptional amount of rain (around 600 liters), yet the wine has achieved exceptional freshness. It's 13.9% alcohol, and there's more red fruit on the nose, which is subtle and elegant, a little closed at first, shy and subtle. They have done great adjustments in the élevage, with the wine matured in 30% to 40% 400-liter barrels and only some 40% new wood. It's 58% Malbec (approximately 50/50 from Luján and Valle de Uco, where they have 15 hectares in Altamira), 37% Cabernet Sauvignon and 5% Petit Verdot. This has less structure than the 2015, but there's more tension; this is a wine that should develop beautifully in bottle. This is a vintage of precision and with great aging potential. I think this wine is the most elegant produced so far. Bravo!“

HOMMAGE A JACQUES PERRIN 2017

75% Mourvèdre, 10% Syrah, 10% Grenache, 5% Counoise
0,75 l @ 350,00 Euro   3er OHK
97-100 Parker WINE ADVOCATE:
Loaded with mulberry and blueberry fruit, graced by hints of star anise, cardamom, cinnamon and allspice, the 2017 Chateauneuf du Pape Hommage à Jacques Perrin is another standout vintage for this wine. Full-bodied, rich, velvety and long on the finish, at this point, it's maybe not quite as sure a thing to reach the century score as the beyond-superlative 2018, but I wouldn't rule it out. This is seriously great wine.“
100 Jeb Dunnuck: „On another level, the brilliant 2017 Châteauneuf Du Pape Hommage A Jacques Perrin is just about all Mourvèdre (there are small amounts of Grenache, Syrah, and Counoise) brought up in a large foudre. It reveals a saturated purple color as well as a super-rich, blockbuster-styled bouquet of blackcurrants, blackberries, ground pepper, truffle, charcuterie, and God knows what else. With full-bodied richness, a stacked, opulent mid-palate, building tannins, and a sensational finish, it’s another perfect wine from this team and is unquestionably in the same realm as the 2000, 2001, 2005, 2007, 2009, 2010, and 2016. Give bottles 7-8 years of bottle age and enjoy over the following 40-50 years.“
