Beschreibung

100 % Estate Grown Cabernet Sauvignon aus alten Reben; unbewässert, Anbau nach biologischen Richtlinien; selektive Handlese, sehr kurze Wege, Gärung in Edelstahl, Ausbau in hochwertigen Barriques bester französischer Hersteller, für zwei Jahre, 100% neue Fässer; Produktion: 350 Kisten. 14,8 % vol.

- JEB DUNNUCK: "Coming from the Arns Estate and brought up in 90% new French oak, the 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon sports a deep purple, opaque color to go with impressive notes of blackcurrants, plums, black cherries, dried earth and savory spices. Medium to full-bodied and impressively balanced, it has present tannin, a focused, age-worthy feel and plenty of length. It's a classic Cabernet from this terrific region to enjoy over the following two decades."

- THE NITTANY EPICUREAN: "The wine showed a dark ruby color. Black cherry, raspberry preserves, cassis, eucalyptus and oak could each be found on the nose. Blackberry, raspberry preserves, licorice, vanilla, eucalyptus, cherry and oak on a palate dominated by dark berry fruit. The wine was full-bodied and exhibited great length, along with moderate tannins. This lushly-textured wine would be an ideal accompaniment with braised lamb shanks or a mushroom ragu over creamy polenta."

- Notizen von Winemaker Sandi Belcher: "Good news! This Vintage is almost perfect following along the lines of 2012 and 2013. The relatively shortness of crop (on going drought) can be seen in its concentration. This wine has depth, finesse, harmony, and the potential to last. Shortness of crop also means low production numbers so you will want to get yours before we run out!
The flavor of this vintage is dominated by two special blocks in our ten-acre vineyard, the Eloise (named after John’s 99-year-old mother) and the Meadow, which is in a higher elevation north on the property. Eloise’s block is very opulent and the Meadow is very flamboyant. In this wine you will find the s..y, opulence of Eloise coupled with the flamboyance of the Meadow. A wine that is incredibly rich yet never heavy. Good breeding in the vineyards with refinement in the cellar points to an indefinable something extra about this wine. It can be enjoyed young and is very long lived, a nice reward.
This is a rich dinner wine with a grand future. Richly complex in aroma, sweet cherries, red currant jelly, dried fruits, violets, cedar, vanilla toffee, sweet pipe tobacco, baking spices and hints of laurel, dried roses coming forth in a stylish perfume."

- PIEDMONT POST „The Wine Corner“, Pierre DuMont (11. August 2021):Deep purple in color, the 2014 is scented of blackberries, plums, currants and touches of dried herbs, leather, and eucalyptus. Big, rich, and round in the mouth, but with good acid to keep things in balance. It is complex and layered, framed by solid tannins and tons of freshness finishing long and earthy. This textbook Napa Cabernet Sauvignon is delicious now but also built for the ages.“
