Far Niente

Far Niente wurde 1885 von John Benson gegründet und wuchs bis zur Prohibition 1919 stets weiter. 60 Jahre später kaufte Gil Nickel das Gut. Dirk Hampson kam 1982 als Winemaker zu Far Niente und Larry Maguire 1983 für Verkauf und Marketing. Heute sind sie Vorsitzender bzw. Präsident und mit ganzem Herzen den hochwertigen Weinen verschrieben.

“Winemaking style is every bit as much what you choose not to do, as what you choose to do, and there are a number of things we’ve chosen not to do at Far Niente,” sagt Hampson. “On the other hand, we’ve chosen to produce only two wines.”
