Deep crimson-purple; a full-bodied Barossa Valley shiraz straddling traditional and newer winemaking philosophies and practises (the latter mainly in the form of the French oak used). Its depth and balance will see this wine transform itself over the next 10 years and flourish for 20+ years thereafter.?

|Notizen des Weinguts:||Vineyard(s): Ken Semmler's St. Jakobi Vineyard, Lyndoch Barrique? 67% French and 33% American Oak Hogsheads (40% New Oak) Aged in oak for 19 months Winemakers Comments: The 2015 St Jakobi Shiraz shows generous fruit on both the nose and palate. It is a full bodied, generously fruit filled wine, showing mid palate sweetness and flavours characteristic of dark cherry and black berries. The spicy oak characters and fine grain grape tannins compliment the round fruit-focussed palate concentration. The finish is long, with firm tannins and clean acidity. It?s a wine that will further soften and complex with careful cellaring. Vintage An extremely dry late Spring (Oct - Dec) having only 20 mm of rain meant that vines on the St Jakobi vineyard were calling out for a drink when 50mm of rain fell in January. Warm dry conditions followed throughout the Barossa Valley bringing on a very early start to Vintage. Of course with little rain there is little risk of disease in the vineyard. The dry Spring weather and warmer conditions resulted in an earlier than normal harvest with all varieties being ready to harvest at a similar time. Picking started on the 9th of February and was completed by the 20th of February. 2015 Vintage lasted 12 days from start to finish. Harvesting was rushed as it?s important to pick when the time and flavours are right. We are very happy with the result.
