- 5* GERHARD EICHELMANN: "Die Cuvee Revolution Blanc de Blancs Non Dose Grand Cru ersetzt die Cuve Vendemiaire Extra Brut Premier Cru, ist wie diese ein reinsortiger Chardonnay von der Cote des Blancs, allerdings nur aus Grand Cru-Lagen, vor allem aus Avize, aber auch aus Oger, Cramant und Le Mesnil-sur-Oger. Nur die Cuvee wird verwendet, 40 Prozent des Weines wird im Barrique ausgebaut, 20 Prozent durchläuft die malolaktische Gärung, sie enthält Reserveweine aus den beiden Vorjahren, wird ein bis zwei Jahre länger auf der Hefe ausgebaut als der Brut, erhält keine Dosage. Sie zeigt rauchige Noten und reife Frucht, feine Frische, ganz dezent Brioche und Haselnüsse im Hintergrund, etwas weiße und gelbe Früchte, ist faszinierend reintönig, ist komplex, füllig und harmonisch, druckvoll und doch elegant, ist wunderschön präzise und nachhaltig, mineralisch."

Unfurling in the glass with scents of pear, warm pastry, apricot, toasted almonds and citrus oil, it's full-bodied, layered and elegantly muscular, with a deep and multidimensional core, racy acids and a long, precise finish. This is an especially elegant, refined rendition of Révolution, and it will be well worth following over time."

Revealing aromas of confit citrus, warm brioche, almond paste and peach, the wine is full-bodied, broad and vinous, with a concentrated but incisive profile. It's showing beautifully and is well worth seeking out."

- 94 Punkte Robert Parkers WINE ADVOCATE, Stephan Reinhardt (8/2018): "The NV Blanc de Blancs Grand Cru Non Dosé Révolution is the new name of the former Cuvée Vendémiaire Extra Brut, and it is sourced only in grand cru villages. This intensely yellow colored cuvée is based on 2011 (plus reserve wines from 2010, 2009, 2008 and 2007). It offers a deep, ripe and intense but pure, fresh, very precise and expressive nose with ripe, concentrated citrus fruit aromas and some greenish chalky notes that demand further bottle aging. Full-bodied, round and creamy, with great elegance, finesse and complexity, this is another promising cuvée from Charles Doyard who sadly passed away in April 2017. It is nicely finessed but needs even more years to find its final character. Highly promising, though. Tasted April 2018.
Yannick Doyard, who had to retake the helm of the 11-hectare family domaine in Vertus after the tragic death of his then 31-year-old son Charles one year ago, presented a fantastic quintet of Champagnes during a speed-meeting in Cramant earlier this year. What a memorable legacy from Charles and Yannick Doyard! There might be not many better cuvées in the Côte des Blancs at this price level than Doyard's Premier Cru Cuvée Vendémiaire. (…)
Doyard has holdings in prestigious grand crus and premier crus such as Vertus, Le Mesnil-sur-Oger, Oger, Avize, Cramant, Aÿ and Dizy. The majority (90%) is Chardonnay, and just one hectare is Pinot Noir. The vines are 40 years old (on average), and the yields are kept very low. Since only the very best grapes are processed, the annual production is just 40,000 bottles.The wines are partly vinified in used oak barrels and kept on the lees until March. Malolactic fermentation is blocked, but the second fermentation is under natural cork, which softens the texture a bit and underlines the vinous, elegant character of the enormously concentrated, vital wines that will get even better with age."
