Beschreibung

- 97 Punkte VINOUS, Antonio Galloni: "The 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon Farella Vineyard is just as impressive as it was from barrel. A wine of tremendous gravitas and power, the Farella is endowed with so much personality. The darker side of this Coombsville site emerges with real power. Inky dark fruit, licorice, menthol, sage and lavender infuse with myriad layers of complexity. This is a reference point wine for Coombsville. In a word: magnificent."

- 95 Punkte und "Cellar Selection" WINE ENTHUSIAST, Virginie Boone: "Powerfully broad-shouldered, this wine is soft and supple on the palate, with a fleshy quality that appeals. Earthy clove, cedar and pencil shavings provide a savory context against which elements of red and black currant, cassis and oak get to play. The structure of this wine will support cellaring; enjoy best from 2025 through 2028."

Notizen des Weinguts: The Farella Vineyard in Coombsville is the birthplace of Di Costanzo. The 26 acre vineyard benefits from its west-facing, volcanic hillsides bathed in warm, afternoon sun, making it amongst the warmest sites in the traditionally temperate appellation. The vineyard, composed of red gravelly tufa, sits on a base of volcanic ash and is farmed meticulously and sustainably by the Farella family. The Farella Vineyard has been in production since the late 1970s and has the oldest known Cabernet Sauvignon vines in Coombsville. All of these characteristics combine to create the ideal conditions for an estate wine of proven longevity, purity, and place.
