- 95+ Punkte VINOUS, Antonio Galloni: „The 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon Farella Vineyard is just as magnificent from bottle as it was from barrel. Vertical and towering in feel, the 2016 has so much to offer. In this tasting, the 2016 reminds me of the 2013, but with more fruit slightly friendlier tannins, both of which make it a real pleasure to taste, even in the early going. All of the savory and mineral character that makes Farella such a distinctive site runs through this vivid, super-expressive Cabernet. DON'T MISS IT. 2022-2036. (...)
Once again, I was struck by the wines I tasted with Massimo di Costanzo. The 2015 and 2016 Cabernets from Farella, in Coombsville, are both impressive, while a new wine from a site in Oakville shows considerable potential. I also tasted a handful of 2017s that make me hopeful at least some wines from this vintage will survive. Massimo Di Costanzo remains one of Napa Valley's most promising young producers.“
- 94 Punkte JAMES SUCKLING: „The deep and complex nose, which is full of savory, ripe-plum and wet-earth aromas, makes this cabernet stand out in the Napa pack. Then the rich, but finely nuanced palate slowly opens up its spicy secrets. There’s a ton of tannins in here, but they’re beautifully crafted and give the wine serious complexity. Then, the hint of bitterness at the finish adds even more vitality. Try to wait until at least 2021.“ - DECANTER Artikel „Napa new releases to drink in 2019“, Eduardo Dingler: „Vintner Massimo Di Costanzo is well acquainted with the iconic Farella Vineyard, tucked away in the Coombsville AVA. 30-year-old vines on layers of volcanic soil combine with favourable notes of the vintage to create a vivid Cabernet Sauvignon. This savoury wine explodes with soft red berries and hints of rosemary and incense, rounded out with a freshly shaved pencil aroma and velvety tannins. Elegant and finessed. Drinking Window 2019 – 2036.“

|Notizen des Weinguts:||The Farella Vineyard in Coombsville is the birthplace of Di Costanzo. The 26 acre vineyard benefits from its west-facing, volcanic hillsides bathed in warm, afternoon sun, making it amongst the warmest sites in the traditionally temperate appellation. The vineyard, composed of red gravelly tufa, sits on a base of volcanic ash and is farmed meticulously and sustainably by the Farella family. The Farella Vineyard has been in production since the late 1970s and has the oldest known Cabernet Sauvignon vines in Coombsville. All of these characteristics combine to create the ideal conditions for an estate wine of proven longevity, purity, and place.|
