- 92 Punkte JAMES SUCKLING: „Red plums, blackberries, mocha and violets on the nose. Some spices, too. It’s full-bodied with tight tannins. Savory on palate with a fleshy texture and a medium, flavorful finish. Try after 2023.“
- 90-91 Punkte, VertdeVin: „The nose offers a fine richness and a small intensity. This wine should be decanted. It reveals notes of blackberry, sweet spices and small notes of fresh/ripe raspberry associated with small touches of small pulpy blue fruits as well as fine hints of liquorice, a very discreet hint of toasted and pepper. The palate is fruity, racy, fresh, well-balanced, mineral and offers a fine acidulous frame, minerality, a small mineral frame as well as a good definition. On the palate this wine expresses notes of pulpy/fresh blackberry, small crushed fruits and small notes of crushed strawberry associated with small touches of fresh violet, juicy/acidulous raspberry, hints of chocolate, toasted, caramelization, fine hints of almond as well as a subtle hint of bergamot, dark chocolate and caramelization (in the background). Tannins are racy. Good length.“
- 90 Punkte VINOUS, Neal Martin: „The 2018 Tour Sieujean is a lesser-known Pauillac that I have followed closely for several years, since it can sometimes overperform, as it has in this vintage. It has a bright bouquet of blackberry and raspberry fruit laced with cedar and mint, showing good delineation. The palate is medium-bodied with fine-grained tannins and beautifully integrated oak, and harmonious and elegant on the finish. If you want to spend money on an expensive Pauillac, please do. If you don’t, you know where to come. 2022-2032.“
- JEB DUNNUCK: „Slightly reductive on opening, the 2018 Château Tour Sieujean nevertheless shows more fruit with time in the glass, giving up plenty of darker currants, tobacco, and earthy nuances. Nicely textured, medium-bodied, and balanced, it has ripe tannins and solid length. It should have 10-15 years of prime drinking.“
- Jancis Robinson: „85% Cabernet Sauvignon, 15% Merlot. 25-year-old vines. Cold pre-fermentation maceration. Malo in barrel. Aged 12–16 months in barrel, 70% new.
Dark crimson. Oak dominates the nose in cedar and spice but the Cabernet Sauvignon dominance shows in the black fruit at the core. Dry, firm, chewy and really well balanced despite the foregrounded oak at the moment. Powerful yet harmonious. Chewy and long. 2025-2033“
