The dominance of Merlot gives the bold black fruits and acidity. Wood aging adds spice and smoothness to the texture. This wine will be ready from 2024.“

- VINOUS, Neal Martin: „The 2018 Palais Cardinal, aged for 18 months in oak, has a bouquet similar to the Le Palatin, featuring plenty of brambly red fruit infused with orange blossom and distant Alpine aromas, all showing good delineation. The palate is medium-bodied with grainy tannins that frame dark berry fruit laced with cedar and mint, lending it an almost Left Bank personality. Displaying good length, and quite fresh and vibrant, this should give a decade’s worth of drinking pleasure.“

- JEB DUNNUCK: „A floral, perfumed, elegant Saint-Emilion, the 2018 Château Palais Cardinal offers up attractive red and blue fruits as well as notes of spring flowers and candied orange, medium-bodied richness, and light, silky tannins. This is one for those who love the lightly textured, almost understated, floral side to Bordeaux (without it coming across as skinny or under-fruited). It has plenty of character and should drink nicely for 7-8 years.“
