- 92 Punkte WINE ENTHUSIAST, Roger Voss: "The unusually high proportion of Cabernet Sauvignon in this Saint-Emilion gives this wine a sophisticated structure while bringing out black currants as well as good acidity. From a 46-acre vineyard the wine is perfumed with attractive acidity. Drink from 2022."
- 91-92 Punkte JAMES SUCKLING: "A juicy and pretty wine with blackberry and blueberry aromas and flavors and firm and silky tannins. Linear and long. Solid effort this year."
- 93 Punkte Gilbert & Gaillard: "Beautiful deep ruby, very young appearance. Intense fruity nose reminiscent of small ripe berries from the garden. The palate is very complete with a pleasant texture quality, polished tannins and bright fruit. A vintage well born and in great shape."
- Gold-Medaille Concours des Vins de Bordeaux 2019
- Yves Beck: "Garnet red. Complex bouquet with notes of cherries and raspberries. Touch of liquorice wood. On the palate, the wine has a silky, elegant and delicious palate. The tannins are perfectly integrated and have fine grains. The structure is juicy and supports the aromatic expression well on the finish. A wine that has structure and that has something to go over time. 2021-2028"
- Journal Le Monde (6/2020): "It takes a little time to open, so a one or two hour decanter ideally. Because it is expressed with delica-cy, between raspberries and spices, in a slender structure. A good example which shows that we can expand without losing quality, since the estate grew from 4 to 22 hec-tares between 2008 and 2018."
- GOLD-MEDAILLE Frankfurt International Trophy 2021
Unbedingt Dekantieren. Gabriel-Gold-Glas. 73 % Merlot, 23 % Cabernet Sauvignon und 4 % Cabernet Franc."

Notizen des Weinguts: | Chateau Palais Cardinal is our main wine. According to the traditional methods to make a Saint-Emilion Grand Cru, we use a majority of Merlot, complete with Cabernet Sauvigon and Cabernet Franc. Aged during 18 month in oak barrels, the Palais Cardinal offers attractive black fruit ans incense notes on the well-defined bouquet. The palate is medium- bodied with a little oak on the entry, though it has an attractive supple texture, well-judged acidity and a comely, silky smooth finish. This long keeping wine is perfect to drink with red meat like beef ribs or duck. |
