Im gebündelten Finale schwarzer tasmanischer Bergpfeffer, eine Spur Lakritze und schwarze Johannisbeeren. Das Geheimnis ist die Symbiose von Kraft und Finesse. Der «Sleeper of the vintage» ist erwacht und auf bestem Weg, die höhere Punktzahl in seiner perfekten Trinkreife zu erreichen."

Medium-bodied, the palate is chock-full of vibrant black fruits with ripe, grainy tannins and a refreshing kick to the finish."

Dried cherry, mint, dried flowers, licorice, cedar and tobacco infuse the 2017 with lovely layers of aromatic nuance and complexity. All the elements meld together nicely. Just as it was en primeur, the 2017 is relatively understated for Meyney, but that is not a bad thing at all. Meyney appears to be moving in a very positive direction over the last few years, and that is, of course, great to see."

- DECANTER, Jane Anson: "Meyney has had a strong couple of years, and even in this challenging vintage this is a wine that you want to look out for. Attractive baked plum aromatics on the nose, without the concentration of 2016 but with silky, well extracted cassis fruits and attractive spice on the finish. More closed down than it was En Primeur, this is going to need a few years from this point to open up. Drinking Window 2023 – 2036"

Der Höhenflug geht weiter, kann in der perfekten Trinkreife den grandiosen 2015er erreichen!”

Splendid freshness and acidity, silky fruit and tannin, velvety texture, fine structure with gentle kick of typical for St.Estephe coarseness. Really, really well made! 58% Cabernet Sauvignon, 31% Merlot and 11% Petit Verdot. The latter grape variety seems to add strong backbone to this wine.“

the 2012 Meyney is showing the most promise, with commendable weight and density, though the fantastic 2014 Meyney eclipses them all, even the 2009 and 2010. This is where everything starts to get serious and the improvements implemented at the estate yield results in the glass. The fineness of the tannins becomes more noticeable, and, as revealed in this vertical, Meyney begins to be imbued with greater precision on the finish. Subsequently, the 2015 Meyney is one of the unheralded gems of the vintage, a rare instance where a Saint-Estèphe is better in this year than in 2014. There is more grip here, plusher fruit, and greater structure than in previous vintages; on this occasion it pips the still-magnificent 2016 Meyney, which remains impressively focused. The 2017 Meyney is probably earlier-drinking than the previous three vintages, but unlike before, when a more challenging growing season would predict an inferior Grand Vin, it is only a notch under the 2016, a credit to Le Naour and her team in instilling Meyney with far greater consistency."
