- 90 Punkte VINOUS, Antonio Galloni: "Crushed flowers, sweet pipe tobacco, cedar and red berry fruit are all nicely lifted in the 2018 Mauvesin Barton. This deceptively mid-weight, perfumed Moulis has a lot to offer, including a very finessed, persistent finish. I would prefer to drink it on the earlier side. Lovely."
- 90 Punkte VINOUS, Neal Martin: "The 2018 Mauvesin Barton benefits from its parcel-by-parcel vinification. It has a lovely bouquet, beautifully defined, with incense and pressed iris petal aromas wafting from the glass. The medium-bodied palate delivers fine-grained tannins, a crisp bead of acidity and a touch of white pepper on the finish. It feels a little pinched so soon after bottling, but it will repay cellaring. Very fine."
- 90 Punkte DECANTER, Jane Anson: "They produced no 2017 here due to frost, so it's good to see it back and benefitting from all the work the Bartons have done here since arriving at the property. It's a little chewy and austere but good quality. The bright palate is rippling with redcurrant and bramble fruit. A cheerful wine with a firm tannic structure - quite a classical take on the vintage. Drinking Window 2023 – 2036"
- 90 Punkte JEB DUNNUCK: "Pretty cherry and redcurrant fruits as well as leafy herbs and floral notes emerge from the 2018 Château Mauvesin Barton. Medium-bodied, with a nicely textured, elegant mouthfeel, moderate tannins, and outstanding length, it's a beautiful, classic Bordeaux to enjoy over the coming 10-15 years."
- 92-93 Punkte JAMES SUCKLING: "There is serious depth of fruit in the center palate. Medium to full body, firm tannins and a lovely finish. Shows brightness and minerality."
