- 93 Punkte VINOUS Antonio Galloni, Neal Martin: "The 2014 Marquis d’Alesme has a refined and focused bouquet with irresistible black fruit intermingling with brine, cedar and cigar box aromas. The palate is medium-bodied with fine grain tannin, brisk and tensile with beautifully judged acidity and neatly sutured new oak. This is very graceful and yet it does not stint on fruit and feels long on the finish. Superb. Tasted blind at the annual Southwold tasting."

- 93 Punkte DECANTER: "Deep and rich, packed full of damson, cassis, tobacco leaf, graphite. The tannins chew and gnaw away at the finish line but the fruit keep up nicely. A touch surly right now, with just a point of bitterness on the finish, but this is a great quality wine from an estate that is benefitting from serious investment over recent years. Drinking Window 2019 – 2028"

- 92 Punkte Robert Parkers WINE ADVOCATE: "The 2014 Marquis d'Alesme Becker has a tightly wound bouquet that is not quite as expressive as the 2014 Labégorce that I tasted alongside. Black fruit here, a touch of melted tar and violets, but it needs several years. The palate is medium-bodied with slightly tough tannin on the entry. This does not quite "flow" as well as its peers at the moment, although there is satisfying complexity and nuance on the finish that suggests it simply needs more bottle age. The salinity on the aftertaste is very pleasing."

- WINESPECTATOR: "This delivers a fleshy, inviting blast of warm plum and blackberry preserve flavors, inlaid judiciously with a singed alder note. Bright violet and anise accents fill in on the finish, which has solid depth for the vintage. Best from 2019 through 2029. 5,000 cases made."
