- VINOUS, Antonio Galloni: "The 2018 Cuvée Hirondelle is a very rare 100% Muscadelle. It shows a distinctly rich, almost phenolic personality. Dried pear, almond paste, lemon oil, sage and dried flowers give the Hirondelle tons of character. Sweet floral notes grace the textured finish.
These new releases from Pierre Lurton’s Marjosse estate highlight the personality of single blocks on the property and signal a shift towards more ambitious wines. It’s a propitious start to be sure."
- 16,5 Punkte JANCIS ROBINSON, Julia Harding: "Very old vines (75 years) on clay-limestone. Aged 12 months in concrete egg and stainless-steel tank. Vinified by Jean-Marc Domme. Only 2,396 bottles produced. The name Hirondelle was chosen because, they say, Muscadelle is as fragile and demanding as a swallow – particularly susceptible to grey rot and rarely made as a varietal wine in Bordeaux.
Delicately scented with tilleul (linden), stone fruit and a stony character, and very slightly spicy. Not at all what I expected. On the palate, this has, like the Cuvée Palombe, a surprising and more savoury flavour and lovely freshness. Possibly too subtle to drink with food but a great aperitif with a rather unusual stony, fresh aftertaste. Less scented on the palate than I expected. Persistent. You need to pay attention to this because it does not shout its attributes. Quite a bit of depth at such a modest alcohol level."
- DECANTER, Jane Anson: "Unusual in Bordeaux, where Muscadelle is almost always used as a blending grape in tiny quantities. This has dried rose petal notes, is delicate and seductive. Unoaked, vinified in cement eggs and stainless steel, charming and subtle. Drinking Window 2021 – 2024"

|Notizen des Weinguts:||It is very rare to find a 100% Muscadelle cuvée in Bordeaux. It is a difficult variety to cultivate, particularly susceptible to gray rot. Muscadelle and swallow bird, which gives this cuvée its name in French, have in common their fragility and their high standards. Inherited from very old vines planted on a clay-limestone plot, this cuvée highlights the diversity of our terroirs. Tasting Notes : Swallow in the field brings joy and spring! This 2018 Hirondelle cuvée, have a brilliant yellow, seduces with its complex and amazing nose. Reveals a lot of floral and spicy notes on the nose. The palate reveals a great body, and some notes of yellow fruits, like apricot. The finish is delicately supported by a fine acidity.
