- 95 Punkte und somit unter den Top 3 Weinen im DECANTER (03/2023) Panel Tasting Cru Bourgeois 2018: „Le Boscq lies minutes from the Gironde estuary, 18ha of vines on a deep gravel bank with clay subsoils. The château first obtained cru bourgeois status in 1932 when the classification began, then in 2020 was promoted to exceptionnel. The 2018 wine is a blend of 63% Cabernet Sauvignon, 33% Merlot and 4% Petit Verdot. Individual plots were fermented in small stainless steel vats, then the wine spent 12 months ageing in oak barriques, of which 45% were new. Georgina Hindle: Smooth and full of energy, a touch of sweetness to the red, blue and black fruits and lashings of dark chocolate, liquorice and slate. Brilliant purity of expression and definition. Vincenzo Arnese: Blackcurrant, figs and charred wood, the palate riper with a sweeter feeling: crisp tannins, intense and very oaky, and notes of nutmeg and vanilla. Daphne Teremetz: Blackcurrant cordial fruit and some cedar and light nutty complexity on the nose. Full, bold body with super-fine, tight tannins – moderately smooth, soft acidity and a ripe blueberry finish. Drinking Window: 2023 - 2045“
- Robert Parkers WINE ADVOCATE, Lisa Perrotti-Brown: „Deep garnet-purple in color, the 2018 le Boscq reveals notes of warm cassis, ripe black plums and boysenberries with hints of charcoal, pencil lead, star anise and bouquet garni. The medium to full-bodied palate is chock-full of crunchy black fruits, framed by ripe, grainy tannins and impressive freshness and finishes with great length and lovely purity.“
- 94 Punkte WINE ENTHUSIAST, Roger Voss: „This well-run estate shows its pedigree in this latest release. The firm tannins of the appellation are balanced by powerful black fruits and smoky, wood-aging flavors. The 63% Cabernet Sauvignon is the key to the wine's structure and aging potential. Drink from 2025.“
- VINOUS, Antonio Galloni: „The 2018 Le Boscq is a powerful, dense wine. Black cherry, gravel, licorice, smoke, game and cloves flesh out as this succulent, potent Saint-Estèphe shows off its heady, flamboyant personality. The 2018 packs a serious punch. It is also a huge overachiever.“
- 93 Punkte FALSTAFF: „Tiefdunkles Rubingranat, opaker Kern, violette Reflexe, zarte Randaufhellung. Attraktive schwarze Beerenfrucht, dunkle Kirschen, feine Edelholzwürze, Brombeerkonfit unterlegt. Komplex, saftig, extraktsüße Textur, feiner Nougat, tragende, reife Tannine, sehr gute Länge, sicheres Reifepotenzial, tolles Preis-Leistungverhältnis.“
- 92 Punkte DECANTER, Jane Anson: „Full of St-Estèphe character. Chewy tannins and powerful overall - needs time in the glass. It opens to show lovely sweet black cherry fruit. This is enjoyable and good-quality. Tannins are present but finely brushed. Juicy on the finish. A yield of 40hl/ha, 50% new oak. Drinking Window 2023 – 2036“
- 92 Punkte JEB DUNNUCK: „This estate delivers terrific wines in just about every vintage. The 2018 Château Le Boscq offers a deep purple hue as well as a rocking nose of blue fruits, plums, violets, damp earth, and flowers. Rich and medium-bodied, it has a wonderfully sweet core of fruit and a great finish. It's ideal for drinking over the coming 10-15 years.“
- 92 Punkte JAMES SUCKLING: „Blackcurrant, black-cherry, dark-chocolate, clove and praline aromas. Oyster shell. It’s medium-to full-bodied with firm, chalky tannins and a creamy texture. Medium finish. Nice texture to this. Polished texture. Drink from 2023.“
