- 97 Punkte und drittbester Wein im DECANTER Medoc Grand Cru Classe 2017 panel tasting, Georgina Hindle: „Langoa Barton’s gravelly vineyard plots are still owned by the Barton family, who founded the estate in 1722. A blend of 54% Cabernet Sauvignon, 38% Merlot and 8% Cabernet Franc, fermented in thermo-regulated wooden vats for 7-10 days, and aged 16-18 months in barriques, 60% new. Georgie Hindle: Seductive, beguiling nose. Taut, defined, precise, detailed. Soft, exotic spices add texture and frame to the fruit with silky, almost imperceptible tannins. Energetic, but not showy at all. Vincenzo Arnese: Ripe and concentrated fruit aromas with blackcurrant and maraschino cherry. The palate opens up to chocolate and coffee. Intense and deep finish. Andy Howard MW: A wonderful combination of classic Bordeaux style with modern winemaking. Intense palate, with integrated oak and hints of menthol, graphite and spice. Effortlessly graceful. Drinking Window 2023 – 2045“

- Robert Parkers WINE ADVOCATE, Lisa Perrotti-Brown: „The 2017 Langoa Barton is medium to deep garnet-purple colored and features wonderfully pure scents of crushed blackcurrants, wild blueberries and black raspberries plus wafts of underbrush, dark chocolate and violets. Medium to full-bodied, the palate is laden with seductive black and blue fruits, framed by grainy tannins and just enough freshness, finishing long and perfumed.“

- 94 Punkte WINE ENTHUSIAST, Roger Voss: „The 2017 Langoa Barton is medium to deep garnet-purple colored and features wonderfully pure scents of crushed blackcurrants, wild blueberries and black raspberries plus wafts of underbrush, dark chocolate and violets. Medium to full-bodied, the palate is laden with seductive black and blue fruits, framed by grainy tannins and just enough freshness, finishing long and perfumed.“

- WINESPECTATOR, James Molesworth: „Ripe, bright and fresh, featuring a terrific beam of cassis and plum fruit running through, flanked by anise and red tea notes and scored by a singed applewood accent on the finish. Needs a little time to unwind fully. Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Cabernet Franc. Best from 2022 through 2032. Tasted twice, with consistent notes. 7,333 cases made.“

- 93 Punkte VINOUS, Antonio Galloni: „The 2017 Langoa Barton is so beautiful, just as it was en primeur. Rich, fleshy and seductive in the glass, the 2017 exudes charm from the very first taste. Succulent red cherry, red plum, mint, tobacco and blood orange all flesh out in this wonderfully inviting, alluring Saint-Julkien from the Barton family.“

- 93 Punkte VINOUS, Neal Martin: „The 2017 Langoa Barton has a wonderful bouquet with blackberry, briary, potpourri and light violet scents that are extremely well integrated with the 60% new oak. Nothing pretentious, nothing extravagant. The palate is medium-bodied with very supple tannin, one oft he most pliable Langoa’s that I can recall with plenty of black cherry and cassis fruit on the strucured finish. This is a great Langoa-Barton that comes highly recommended.“

- 17+ Punkte JANCIS ROBINSON: 54% Cabernet Sauvignon, 38% Merlot, 8% Cabernet Franc.
Dark crimson that is bluer than most. Rather attractive polish to the tannins and then bone dry on the end. Classic stuff with considerable appeal. No rough edges but no excess sweetness. Succulent and appetising.

- 18 Punkte Rene Gabriels BORDEAUX TOTAL, Andre Kunz: „Kunz Fassprobe 18: (54% Cabernet Sauvignon, 38% Merlot, 8% Cabernet Franc, 45 hl/ha) Samtenes, fruchtiges, frisches Bouquet, Brombeeren, schwarze Kirschen, Tabak, Zeder, Lakritze. Dichter, ausgewogener, fruchtiger Gaumen mit samtener Frucht, feinem Tannin, kräftiger Aromatik, langer, aromatischer Abgang mit süssen Rückaromen.“

- 93 Punkte JAMES SUCKLING: „Lots of crushed blackcurrants and chocolate on the nose, following through to a medium to full body with soft, friendly tannins that are caressing and beautiful. Drinkable now, but better after 2022.“

- 17 Punkte VINUM: „Zurückhaltende Aromatik, fruchtiger Auftakt, frische Entwicklung, feinkörniges Tannin, gute Länge, stimmig, ausgezeichnet gemacht.“
