-91 Punkte WINE ENTHUSIAST, Roger Voss: “The rather grand chateau of this estate dates to the 19th century, a turreted affair very much in the Médoc tradition. The wine is classic as well, offering balanced acidity, black-currant fruit and a layer of tannins to support everything. The 30% new barrels have added to the wine's richness as well as giving a spicy aftertaste. Drink from 2022.“

-91 Punkte JAMES SUCKLING: “This has a plush array of fine tannins and delivers an impressively structured palate with assertive and lively tannins, carrying plush and elegant, red-berry flavors in fresh resolve. Try from 2021."

-17 Punkte jancisrobonson.com, Richard Hemming MW: 52% Merlot, 44% Cabernet Sauvignon, 2% Cabernet Franc, 2% Petit Verdot. Sophisticated blackcurrant and plum fruit, garnished with a few sprigs of mint and subtle notes of char and spice. Maximises the fruit characteristics of the varieties, as well as adding well-judged oak influence. Thoughtful winemaking, with the intensity to age well. (RH). 2018-2031.“

-89-91 Punkte Parkers WINE ADVOCATE, Lisa Perrotti-Brown: „The 2016 Chateau Lamothe-Bergeron has impressive freshness and vitality on the nose: bouyant black fruit mixed with tobacco and graphite. The palate is well balanced with crisp acidity, harmonious in the mouth with good depth, a lot of new oak on the finish but that should be subsumed by the time this is in bottle. There is potential here. 2021-2035.“

-17 Punkte Rene Gabriels BX Total, Andre Kunz: „Kunz Fassprobe 17: (55% Cabernet Sauvignon, 45% Merlot) Tiefes, elegantes, feinherbes Bouquet, Zedern, Tabak, Korinthen. Klassischer, kräftiger Gaumen mit gutem Tannin, dunkler Frucht, kräftiger Aromatik, muskulöser Struktur, herber Abgang. 2024-2034.“

- JEB DUNNUCK auf Social Media im April 2021: "Everyone loves the big names and expensive bottles, but there are so many beautiful, well priced wines out there that won’t break the bank and offer incredible enjoyment. This is one of them."

- VINOUS, Antonio Galloni: “The 2016 Lamothe-Bergeron is savory, expressive and wonderfully nuanced. Grilled herb, smoke, leather, tobacco, game, plum and cedar give this Haut-Medoc Cru Bourgeois tons of character. Delicate and understated in the glass, the 2016 will drink well over the next handful of years maybe more. The blend is 50% Cabernet Sauvignon and 50% Merlot.”
