Beschreibung

- 90 Punkte Robert Parkers WINE ADVOCATE, William Kelley: „Aromas of rich berry fruit, cassis, vanilla pod and pencil shavings introduce the 2019 Lafleur-Gazin, a medium to full-bodied, ample wine with a ripe core of fruit and youthfully chewy structuring tannins. This is a hearty, rather rustic Pomerol that will work well at table.“

- 93 Punkte WINE ENTHUSIAST, Roger Voss: „Barrel Sample. This is a serious, rich wine that's packed with black fruits and dense tannins. Richly endowed with both fruit and tannins, the wine is sure to age well.“

- 93 Punkte VINOUS, Antonio Galloni: „The 2019 Lafleur-Gazin has turned out beautifully. There is an air of sophistication and poise that is impossible to miss. Red fruit, flowers, spice and blood orange all run through the 2019, lending tons of nuance and refinement. This elegant Pomerol will drink nicely with minimal cellaring. Tasted two times.“

- 90 Punkte VINOUS, Neal Martin: „The 2019 Lafleur-Gazin has become more refined and focused on the nose of ample black cherry, raspberry and plummy fruit, touches of pressed violets and rose petals percolating through with aeration. The palate is medium-bodied with pluiant tannins, fresh acidity, a slightly lactic texture and veins of dark chocolate complementing the finish. This will need time n bottle, but it should end up a fine Pomerol.“

- 93 Punkte FALSTAFF, Peter Moser: „Dunkles Rubingranat, violette Reflexe, dezente Randaufhellung.

- 94 Punkte DECANTER, Georgina Hill: „Wild bramble fruits on the nose, smells appealing. Super succulent and ripe in the mouth with sleek but just grippy tannins making their presence known. Touch of blueberry and blackcurrant to this alongside salty nuances and a menthol lift at the end. Great mid palate juice giving freshness and energy while at the same time this is a mouth filling wine. Classy and feels well worked. Drinking Window 2024 – 2038“

- 91 Punkte JEB DUNNUCK: „The 2019 Château Lafleur-Gazin showed nicely, with an elegant, seamless, classy style as well as textbook Pomerol notes of ripe red and black fruits, tobacco leaf, damp earth, and a hint of chocolate. Playing in the more elegant, seamless side of the spectrum, it still has solid mid-palate depth and outstanding length. It will drink nicely for at least 15 years.“

- 96 Punkte JAMES SUCKLING: „Lovely blackberry, milk chocolate powder and black truffle on the nose. Full-bodied with firm and fine, chewy tannins that are polished and long. Persistent on the finish. This needs until at least 2027 to show you its seriousness.“

Notizen des Weinguts: Situated on the northern edge of the plateau of Pomerol, nestled between Château Gazin and Château La Fleur-Pétrus, this wine has been produced by Ets. Jean-Pierre Moueix since 1976 for the Borderie family, owners since 1930. The Merlot vines (averaging 30 years of age), are planted on gravel and clay. The Cabernet Franc is planted on silt soils, which encourage a nuanced and full expression of this varietal’s character. The vineyard management and vinification are carried out traditionally and with great care, producing a plump, supple, fleshy wine with ripe fruit and silky tannins. Eminently approachable, even in its youth, Lafleur-Gazin is a delightful expression of the lighter style of Pomerol wines.
