- 91 Punkte WINE ENTHUSIAST, Roger Voss: "This comes from a single parcel of vines planted in 1962. The old vines give extra concentration to the already rich wine. It also shows considerable high-toast wood-aging flavors that need to soften into the black-currant fruits. It is aromatic, with a core of tannins from the 70% Cabernet Sauvignon in the blend. Drink this evolving wine from 2023."
- 90 Punkte VINOUS, Neal Martin: "The 2015 Grand Tayac is a blend of 70% Cabernet Sauvignon, 27% Merlot and 3% Petit Verdot. It has a pretty bouquet with red cherries, crushed strawberry and a light marine influence that develops with aeration. The palate is medium-bodied with a sweet entry, plenty of black fruit here that feels a little toasty in style however, there is great depth and the plush black cherry and saline finish is irresistible. Tasted at the Oenoconseil tasting room in Bordeaux."- 91 Punkte JAMES SUCKLING: "Complex and integrated aromas of dark fruits, earth and spices here lead to a palate that carries a supple and almost tangy core of red berries and plum flavors amid nicely wrapped tannins. Try from 2020."
- 94 Punkte INTERNATIONAL WINEREPORT: "The 2015 Château Grand Tayac is a fantastic showing, made by the incredibly talented Oenologist/Winemaker Eric Boissenot, who is known as "Bordeaux's Secret Weapon" because of his role in consulting for all four 1st Growths and about 200 other wineries in the Médoc. Grand Tayac is Boissenot's personl project, and is made out of his small winery in Margaux. The wine itself is absolutely sensational, as it slowly begins to unwind it begins to release alluring aromatics of fresh black cherries, blackberries, espresso, spring florals, graphite, tobacco and slight hint of sweet toasted oak. On the palate this classy red is medium-bodied with notable minerality at its core. It continues to displays wonderful overall structure and balance through the well-polished finish. Simply put, this is an excellent wine from one of the biggest talents in Bordeaux, however I expect it will take at least a few more years of bottle age before it begins to show its best stuff."
