- 94 Punkte VINOUS, Antonio Galloni: „The 2020 Clos Rene has developed into a powerful, structured wine, much moreso than it was from barrel. Dark cherry, plum, chocolate, leather and licorice are all amplified. This potent, deep Pomerol needs time to soften, that is for sure. There is a lot of wine here.“

- 91 Punkte DECANTER, Georgina Hindle: „Blue fruits, cola and liquorice on the nose. Sharp and quite high-toned initially, a rush of bright red fruits, almost sour - raspberries, red cherries and herbal strawberries and nice floral elements. Detailed and nuanced with well integrated wood though it lacks a little substance and push on the mid-palate. Mouthwatering and has nice energy, but just lacks a little spark.“

- 92+ Punkte JEB DUNNUCK: „I loved the 2020 Clos René from barrel and it showed just as well from bottle, exhibiting a deep ruby/plum hue, notes of smoky red and black fruits, spice, and minty herbs, medium to full body, building tannins, and a great finish. It needs 3-4 years to resolve some tannins but should drink nicely over the following decade or more. It's another brilliant Pomerol in 2020.“

- 93 Punkte JAMES SUCKLING: „Beautiful blackberry aromas with some fresh mushroom and forest flower character. Full-bodied with fine tannins that give the wine focus and structure. It’s fresh and vibrant at the end. Very fine structure here. Very typical. Try after 2027.“
