- 93 Punkte DECANTER, Jane Anson: „A newly christened cru bourgeois exceptionnel in the 2020 ranking, this estate delivers consistently impressive wine and has the depth, personality and polish to be a real crowd-pleaser. I have picked a vintage that has five years of age, because Haut-Médoc wines often have so much tannin and densely packed fruit that they need a few years to soften. Dark berry, tobacco and spiced cedar unfurl slowly then hang on tight, giving excellent persistency and a sappy, mouthwatering finish.“ Always a high level (10%-20% in most vintages) of Petit Verdot that adds colour and a kick of pepper on the finish.
- 93 Punkte, Jeb Dunnuck: „The 2016 Château Belle-Vue is one awesome Haut-Médoc as well as an incredible value. Deeply colored, with a powerful bouquet of crème de cassis, black cherries, leafy herbs, and earth, it’s medium to full-bodied, has ultra-fine tannins and fabulous balance. A blend of 45% Cabernet Sauvignon, 35% Merlot, and 20% Petit Verdot, aged in 30% new French oak, it’s almost too good to be true and should be snatched up by readers.“ 2019-2034
- 92 Punkte, James Suckling: „Thanks to its fragrance and discreet succulence, this tastes like a very good Margaux. That should be no surprise, because Belle-Vue’s vineyards lie immediately south of that appellation. Long and elegant finish.“ A blend of 45 per cent cabernet sauvignon, 35 per cent merlot and 20 per cent petit verdot. Drink or hold.
- 91 Punkte FALSTAFF, Peter Moser: „Tiefdunkles Rubingranat, opaker Kern, dezente Randaufhellung, reife Pflaumenfrucht, zart tabakig, ein Hauch von Dörrobst, kandierte Orangenzesten. Saftig, reife Herzkirschen, elegant, feste Tannine, frisch strukturiert, kirschige Nuancen im Abgang, bleibt gut haften.“
90 Punkte, Winespectator, James Molesworth: „Dark and winey, showing a core of steeped currant and blackberry fruit infused with ganache and smoldering tobacco notes. Solid juicy energy through the finish.“ Drink now through 2029. 9,778 cases made.
