- Robert Parkers WINE ADVOCATE: "Lighter in color than the Duvarita, the 2013 Pinot Noir Bien Nacido Vineyard has lots of the classic marine, shrimp broth and minerality of the site, as well as bright cherry, strawberry and spice aromas and flavors. Elegant, balanced, medium-bodied, and with bright acidity, this comes in on the leaner end of the spectrum, yet I suspect will flesh out with a year in bottle. Fermented with 45% whole clusters and aged 16 months in 20% new French oak, it's an outstanding Pinot Noir that should be at it's best from 2016-2021."

|Notizen des Weinguts:||This Bien Nacido is still comprised of the original vines that we signed a long term lease on back in 2008. It is composed of older vines with younger vines interplanted between them on heavy gravel soils. The fruit was harvested on September 3 and 6, at 23 brix. We used 45% whole-cluster in the fermentation, which gives the wine great spice and aromatics. After moving the grapes into tank, they then underwent a four-day cold-soak and were punched-down twice daily. Following fermentation, the wine was pressed and put into French oak barrels (15% new).
