Notizen des Weinguts: As a special complement to the traditional production method for our vermouth, we have added a brief period of ageing, during which the vermouth matures beautifully in new French oak barrels from Allier, medium-toasted. Ideal as an aperitif, it is best served cold and accompanied by an orange peel and an olive.
Mahogany pale amber reflections. The nose is aromatic, caramel mixture and dried orange peel first, then touch lightly smoked. The palate is balanced, lingering bitterness that invites another drink. Sweet at the entrance and at the end, it highlights the caramel and an earthy touch, roots."
- 95 Punkte, Wine Enthusiast, Kara Newman: „Drinking like a cross between sweet vermouth and Sherry, this is a red vermouth that's aged for seven months in acacia barrels. The end result is a nut-brown hue and distinctly nutty palate that bounces between walnut dryness and pecan richness, finishing with a soft brush of cocoa and a dried-herb exhale.“
- 93+ Punkte Richard Jennings: „(NV Martinez Lacuesta Rioja Vermouth Reserva) Light medium brown color with yellow meniscus; aromatic, Barolo Chinato like, lifted, cinnamon bark, menthol, quinine nose; tasty, silky textured, quinine, cinnamon bark, herbal, dried orange palate; long finish (this was a stunning and complex aperitif or after dinner wine for less than $20 a bottle) 93+ points.“

Notizen des Weinguts: | We have been producing vermouth since 1937 using the same traditional formula, which involves macerating 24 different plants in the same barrels that we use to age our wines. In addition to the traditional, artisanal way that we produce our vermouth, using natural aromatic plants and herbs and cold macerating them in white wine, we have added a brief seven-month ageing period in new Allier semi-toasted French oak casks. The result is this refined and well-balanced, aromatic vermouth with an intense colour, with a roasted coffee background and that unusual taste that brings to mind traditional vermouth. Ideal as an aperitif, we recommend that it is served cold and straight and/or accompanied by a slice of orange and an olive. |
