And I love the 2010s.”, gab JANCIS ROBINSON in einem Interview (7 Favorite Wines) mit Ray Isle (Wine Royalty, Food & Wine Magazine, October 2014) zu Protokoll. Bei anderer Gelegenheit urteilte sie über den selben Wein: „Deep crimson. Very fine and svelte on the nose. So sumptuous and delightful. Gorgeous complexity without heat. Beautiful texture. Fine subtle tannins in reserve and truly beautiful. Cool, refined. I CANNOT IMAGINE A BETTER CLARET.“

CATHY CORISON, Winemaker of the year 2011 im San Francisco Chronicle, ist eine Napa Valley Veteranin, die sich diversen Modeerscheinungen nie gefügt hat. Seit Jahrzehnten produziert sie handwerkliche, hervorragende, klassische Cabernets, die immer Frische und Tiefe haben, mit moderaten Alkoholgradationen auskommen und stets langlebig sind. Ihre eigenen Weinberge bewirtschaftet Cathy biologisch.

Der 2010er CORISON CABERNET SAUVIGNON NAPA VALLEY ist ihr besonders gut gelungen. Während Parker’s Wine Advocate ihn gar nicht bewertet, ist das Echo von anderen Fachleuten überwältigend. Nachfolgend ein Auszug:

- 95 Punkte (18,5) DECANTER in der 2013 Kalifornien Beilage: “Seamless integration, with bright, juicy red and black fruit, ripe tannins, refreshing acidity and moderate alcohol. Layered and complex, unfolding with each sip. Drink 2013-2023 Alc 13.8%”

- 95 Punkte WINE & SPIRITS Magazine (Dezember 2013): „Cathy Corison has sourced her Napa cabernet from the same three vineyards, gravelly sites on the western benchland between Rutherford and St. Helena. This offers that area’s distinctly plush and gentle tannins in a Napa Valley cabernet of the old school. It feels formal and reserved, contrasting fresh herbal notes of pipe tobacco and cedar with classic cabernet flavors of red and black currants. Impeccably balanced, this has a scent that’s as compelling as any PREMIER CRU PAUILLAC, with the sunny profile of the Mayacamas benchlands. In other words, it smells pretty great, especially after it’s been open for a day. Built for the cellar, this will provide delicious drinking with roast lamb over the next ten years.”

- 95 Punkte International Wine Report: “… This Cabernet shows remarkable purity, structure and finesse with fine tannins, which work their way into the long, pretty finish. A SIMPLY OUTSTANDING WINE from Cathy Corison. (Best 2016-2028)”

- Exceptional in DAN BERGERS Vintage Experience (Volume XVII, Issue 25 August 1, 2013): “Corison Cabs are always true to their roots, and this may be the best ever. (…) SENSATIONAL. DON'T MISS IT.”

- Wine of the Week im Saint Helena Star (Cathy Bugue, 12. Mai 2015): “THIS IS IT. This is the cabernet sauvignon that shows the sunshine-rich fruit of Napa Valley with all its potential complexity and grace.”

- Restaurant Wine,  Ronn Wiegand, Ausgabe 152-154, April 2014: “Perhaps the BEST-EVER CORISON CABERNET. (…) and very long and harmonious on the finish. A stunning wine. 1,800 cases.“
