Laffitte Carcasset
Ein Kloster aus dem 16. Jahrhundert, umgeben von Weinbergen mitten in St. Estephe. 1790 kaufte Joseph Laffitte, ein Anwalt des Königs, das Gut und legte die Weinberge an. 2016 kaufte Pierre Rousseau das Gut.
Heute sind es 40 Hektar, die zum Großteil von Kies dominiert werden und mit 75% Cabernet Sauvignon, 20% Merlot und 5% Cabernet Franc bestockt sind. Das durchschnittliche Alter der Reben beträgt 35 Jahre.
- Notizen des Weinguts: „The Saint-Estèphe terroir is made up of gravelly rises emblematic of the Left Bank of the Garonne River. These gravelly islets, or “terraces”, resulting from sedimentation during the Quaternary period, are composed of small river stones. Offering natural drainage, this gravel is mixed with traces of ironpan, clay-limestone and sand in places, forming the unique soil patchwork of the Laffitte Carcasset vineyards.
Another feature of the appellation is the presence of marine limestone known as “Saint-Estèphe marl” and deep clay layers that increase the resistance of vines to water stress during periods of severe drought.“
Die Trauben werden Parzelle für Parzelle in temperaturkontrollierten Edelstahltanks vergoren. Die Weine reifen für 12-14 Monate in Eichenfässern (45% neu).
